Been pushing Rive's new 3D and shader support to see what's possible ๐
Using AI + scripting, I was able to:
โข Import 3D models
โข Generate cameras and lights
โข Create custom shaders (wireframe, AO, sketch, toon)
โข Build materials
โข Project animated textures onto 3D geometry
โข Place 2D components directly in 3D space
It's pretty wild to see how quickly Rive is evolving into a true all-in-one platform for interactive design.
"Most people know Rive as the animation toolโthe one Duolingo uses for its mascot (...). That framing undersells it. Over the last few years Rive has quietly grown into something closer to a behavioral design tool" ๐ Highly recommendable article by @aloisdeniel ๐
Developers shouldn't implement UIs.
Most of their time goes into reverse-engineering 80% of a Figma file into a different framework and freestyling the missing 20%.
Why I think @rive_app might be the solution in the article below ๐
A little sneak peek of what Iโm working on for my next Entry State article...
Currently playing with these assets in @rive_app : stickers, skulls, NโSlicing, and probably a little bit of scripting.
Iโll show you more soon ๐
Hereโs a FREE Blender 3D file fully set up with shading, lighting, and compositing straight from a piece I made for NIKE โบ๏ธ

Rive Unreal 0.4.23 has been approved and is in the @fab store
๐ Unreal 5.6 compatibility
๐บ๏ธ RiveRenderTarget2D GetArtboard now exposed to blueprints
๐ฏ Added Get View Model/Artboard by name
๐ Expose currently bound View Model for the artboard
โ Properly set a child View Model owning artboard
๐ Rive Render targets no longer override chosen artboards
๐ Fix packaged projects no longer working with Data Binding
Part 2 of my stepโbyโstep @rive_app tutorial on how to build this interactive grid is out!
Full breakdown + editable file available.

@CedricGourville@rive_app Thanks! ๐Yep, 256 insts, so not super optimized. But my focus here was more on exploring Scripting + new Agent workflows rather than runtime performance. Component complexity plays a big role, and you can also play with the grid size (it still looks great with fewer instances!)
