Woman turns on love song before suicide attempt

A woman in Oakford, KwaZulu-Natal, was found unconscious after reportedly consuming multiple bottles of pills in an apparent suicide attempt on Tuesday.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to multiple distress calls from residents who reported that the woman had turned on a love song before attempting to take her own life. Upon arrival, officers found the music blaring and the woman unresponsive on the kitchen floor.

With the entrance locked from the inside, officers were forced to break through a gate to reach her. While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, authorities were informed that the woman lived with her girlfriend, who was not present at the time.

Emergency responders provided medical assistance at the scene. Further investigations are ongoing.
