On #DiasporaMashinani-Lamu Edition, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs participated in the opening ceremony of the Bahari Yetu Festival, a two-day initiative organized by the Lamu Marine Conservation Trust and coordinated by Mr. Jahawi and Ms. Elke Bertolli, Kenyan-Italian professionals with expertise in filmmaking, photography, environmental storytelling, and marine conservation.
The festival brought together Kenyans abroad, children, youth, and coastal communities to promote marine conservation, preserve cultural heritage, and advance community development. It also sought to inspire young people to explore the ocean, develop an interest in marine conservation, and embrace underwater storytelling as a tool for environmental awareness.
Through its participation, the State Department reaffirmed the importance of engaging the Kenyan diaspora in initiatives that connect communities, protect the marine environment, and promote sustainable development along Kenya’s coast.

I've tested hundreds of supplements over 30 years to heal myself.
Most are worthless, but these 15 transformed my health.

The evidence-based supplement list that actually works: 🧵
I engaged with women leaders from the Kenyan diaspora whose journeys across borders have not diminished their connection to home but have strengthened their capacity to create impact.
I encouraged them to leverage their knowledge, networks, and experiences to mentor, invest in, and empower women and young people across Kenya, while championing women’s economic empowerment through improved access to enterprise financing, market opportunities, and inclusion in national development value chains. When women support women, opportunities multiply, communities thrive, and nations prosper.
Let us continue building bridges that transform distance into connection, and global success into shared progress for our country.

The absence of permanent African seats on the Security Council is indefensible.
The Security Council must reflect today’s world. This is 2026 — not 1946.
Whenever decisions about Africa and the world are on the table, Africa must be at the table.
