Great to join our brilliant candidate Simon in #Rothwell today, on behalf of Leeds #CoopParty branch & our regional EC. Excellent feedback on the doorstep!
The sun shone down on us in Rothwell this morning and the reception stayed warm in Kirkhamgate this afternoon! ☀️
Thanks to Cllrs Maureen Cummings, Charlie Keith, Lynn Masterman and Julie Medford along with our fantastic local volunteers for their support. 🌹
What a day for @UKLabour#Mayors across the country.
And what fun!
Thank you to the people of #WestYorkshire for the opportunity to continue to deliver.
Public control over buses, trams, more affordable homes, jobs, culture and a new modular skills offer.
Bring it on!🌹
Our Chair @JimFromOldham has a special message of thanks to everyone who's backing co-operative values tomorrow - whether you're a Labour & Co-operative candidate or you've been out knocking on the doors, we couldn't do this without you.
Amid the disgusting, racist comments from Leeds-based Tory donor Frank Hester about @HackneyAbbott , I’ve written to the chair of the Leeds North West Conservative Party and local MP @StuartAndrew, calling on them to refuse his money.

Since 2010 government has cut around 60% of the budget from Leeds. So far that's £2,700,000,000 taken out of our public services.
In 2013 the Revenue Support Grant from govt accounted for 35.6% of the council’s budget, next year they are covering just 5.7%.

🌹⚖️Leeds City Council Budget Day⚖️🌹
Today LCC sets it's '24-25 budget, after 14 years of Tory austerity which has removed £2.7 BILLION from our communities.
@Leeds_Labour continues to deliver for a greener, safer, fairer city.

Massive cuts to Leeds by the Conservative government and their Lib Dem enablers mean the council is having to make the most incredibly difficult decisions about what we can and can't continue to fund.
Over £2.5billion taken away from our city and it's people.
For 13 years of Tory austerity - with Leeds starved of funding we need and deserve year after year - the decisions taken by the Labour administration in Leeds has protected our public services; kept our public buildings; kept services in-house, and kept fees and charges low (1/4)
My heartfelt condolences to the family of the young boy who sadly died yesterday. My thoughts & prayers are with you, Horsforth School, Leeds City College & the community. May his lil gentle soul rest eternally 🥲🙏🌹
Delighted to announce that from 1st June I will be joining @GMB_union as National Legal Director.
Looking forward to working as part of the Union’s Senior Management Team to level the legal playing field for working people, and fighting for justice for their members.
Tomorrow is Polling Day for this year's Local Elections!
Don't forget to set a reminder to bring your photo ID and vote Labour and Co-operative tomorrow 🌹 🐝
Today our #LeedsLabourWomen Three-Seat Challenge went out on the #LabourDoorstep in Middleton, Cross Gates and Whinmoor, and Burmantofts and Richmond Hill - talking to voters about what really matters to them.
Fantastic response from voters for all of our women candidates! 🌹
Amongst our candidates are care workers, teachers, students, single parents, hospitality workers, disabled people, retired people, LGBT people, people of different faiths and backgrounds.
We look like Leeds, we are Leeds, and we will continue to deliver for Leeds.

🌹Leeds for Labour, Labour for Leeds🌹
Last night we held our local elections launch, setting out our manifesto, our record of delivering for our communities and our vision for Leeds in the years ahead.
