**CATCHING COACHES AND CATCHERS**
If you are a student of the game, I have a great resource for you. Over the last year, I have put together a catching Google Drive. Over 300 videos covering all facets of catching. Hit the RT and I will reach out on how to access it. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Hitting starts WAY before getting into the box. Below are 6 steps that will lead to more consistent hitting…
1. I believe it all starts the night before with a good PM routine leading to a good night of sleep. Know that a great day today started the night before.
2. Have a solid pre-game routine and be consistent with it. (cage work, BP, standing in on bullpens, visualization, journaling, nap, etc.)
3. Know when your at-bat starts so you can segment the game and turn up the intensity of your focus. Is it when you’re in the hole, on deck, when you put your batting gloves on?
4. When you’re on deck, act like you’re in the box. This time is crucial to take control of your self-talk and breath, and get in sync with the pitcher.
5. Walk with big body language to the plate. Whether you are 10 for your last 15 or 0 for your last 15, carry yourself like the most confident version of you at all times.
6. Have a solid pre-pitch routine. Utilize your breath and make sure your self-talk is directing your focus to what you WANT to happen, rather than what you HOPE doesn’t happen.
The great part about these steps is that they are all 100% in your control. Be great with them, and you will win the inner war, and you will become a much more consistent hitter.
“You cannot be in control of your performance until you can be in control of yourself. Thats the key to these games in my opinion.”
I have had the privilege of working with @CoachSchloss since April 2006.
His commitment to the mental game has been consistent and intentional every step of the way.
A good reminder: The results you are getting are PERFECT for the process you have in place.
@CoachSchloss and his @AggieBaseball team have identified a process to stay consistent, play one pitch at a time and focus on the controllables.
The separator?
They have stayed committed to their process.
It is one thing to identify a process...
It's another thing to execute it on a day-to-day basis regardless of what is happening.
He mentions that the first thing they do at @AggieBaseball, at the start of fall is review the mental game and emphasize routines and the importance of playing one pitch at a time.
"Mental skills are something we practice. We invest a lot of time, effort, and money into mental skills. Mental skills can be practiced just like physical skills can be practiced."
Success leaves clues.
Good luck to the @AggieBaseball as they take on the @Vol_Baseball in Game 2 of the College World Series final today.

3 Truths About Leadership:
1. Leadership isn’t about gaining power. It’s about empowering others.
2. Great leaders succeed because they bring out the greatness in others.
3. You don’t have to be great to serve but you have to serve to be a great leader.

Leadership isn't barking orders or making demands (that's a sign of insecurity). Leadership is engaging on a personal level to help your team become their best. It's about their growth, not your ego.
Build trust, not fear. People respond when you empower, not overpower.
