@TheDonStein Execution that is private hidden or behind closed doors is inherently unjust and tyrannical.
It must be public to be just or moral.
Anyone before 1900 would've understood this.
@EthanWayne2001 Those both sound disordered.
You should interpret each in light of the other, not only in one direction.
You also find plenty of mercy in the old and plenty of wrath in the new.
@bestm8te@TimeForReform29 This might be why Reform leadership don't want a deal yet.
If they election is announced tomorrow they can quietly not stand in great Yarmouth and restore would likely not stand in most of the country.
By 2029 that deal would look more urgent.
Optionality and opportunity cost.
@C_Tocqueville@lotuseaters_com A quick Google search and it says there were 187,00 handguns in Britain before the ban. Which was on handguns not all firearms.
Compared to a population of 56.6M we were not that armed to begin with.
We didn't, then, have a need for them.
We had about 1.34M shotguns, still legal
@bestm8te@TimeForReform29 This is a stronger argument than not currently having the votes.
It looks like restore are counting on a 2029 election and might not run a national campaign if its a 2027 one.
@intothefuture45 Yes you have laid out the actual serious debate.
Was the "balance of power" theory of imperial foreign policy sane and just or not?
Both with or without hindsight it's not a question to handwave or presume the correct answer is the one you want. Whichever way you lean.
@Aelthemplaer@tedcruz Yes but for totally different reasons.
Partisans would've murdered two generations of occupying German men in 20 years across the vast breadth they sought to occupy.
All their allies, foreign volunteers brigades etc would've turned against them the second the Soviets fell.
@JackBMontgomery@RaheemKassam Anyone that called for net negative immigration was kicked out of reform or deselected before the 2024 election.
Have those people been personally apologised too and invited back into the party?
The issue is credibility and prior repudiation not stated theoretical policies.
@MaajidNawaz@Fiat__Justitia Country is a vague vernacular term that means neither the people (or nation), the state or the territory.
It's a hand waving inarticulate implication of those separate things as one thing.
It does not function as a technical term of political theory.
@OdinTruth@RestoreBritain@reformparty_uk They didnt splinter off, they were kicked out in large numbers. It was not their choice it was Farage and Tice.
If they had all just unilaterally left you would have a serious point here.
Farage doesn't complain about it because he stands but it all.
