Yesterday, @XavierWorthy hosted Make-a-Wish kiddo, Daniel, who has been battling leukemia. After practice, they played a game of Madden, where X had a bigger surprise in store 🎮
In 1980 it umpired one game of young baseball players. The kids were great, a couple of parents not so great. At least the kids weren't drinking beer during the game.
This happened between an umpire and two dads at a youth baseball game.
The first dad was arguing with the umpire and the umpire told him to leave the field. He warned him that if he didn’t leave he would call the game. 💯
The dad kept arguing for a bit and then starts to walk away but I guess the ump felt it was too late and called the game.
You can hear one of the boys say “just leave”.
Once the game is called another dad comes over and starts yelling at the umpire because he called the game.
I’ll tell you, this is the reason I gave up coaching after 20 years, parents like this. They ruin it for everyone.
What would you do if you were the coach of that team? Ask the fathers not to attend games? Kick the boys off because of their parents? What’s the best way to handle this?
@TheOfficialBCM After I hit a home run I had a habit of running the bases with my head down. I figured the pitcher already felt bad enough without me showing him up rounding the bases.

In Jaws, Robert Shaw was drunk in the first take of this intense monologue.
He struggled with alcoholism and was a heavy drinker during Jaws production.
He suggested to Spielberg that, since the characters were drinking in the scene, he should have a few real drinks to get into character.
Spielberg agreed but then regretted it.
On the first take, Shaw got very drunk.
Crew members had to carry him onto the boat. He slurred lines, wandered off-script, and the filming was halted.
He had a blackout and didn’t remember much.
Early the next morning, Shaw called Spielberg to apologize and begged for a reshoot. He showed up sober, nailed it.
And that take was used.

🚨 JUST IN: The DOJ has officially CHARGED Nicholas Matthew Scelfo with threatening to MURDER an ICE agent and his family here in Newark
He now faces up to 10 YEARS in prison.
Per DOJ, Scelfo ADMITTED he’s the one on video, and saw it circulating in the media in the hours leading up to his arrest.
Scelfo will appear today in front of a federal magistrate judge today in Newark.
This is a SERIOUS federal felony. 18 U.S. Code § 115: “Influencing, impeding, or retaliating against a Federal official by threatening or injuring a family member.”
Not looking good for this guy!
@DanClarkSports I appreciate the coach standing up for his player, but not enough appreciation the way he reacted to the point of getting thrown out himself.
@SportsPatriotUS Some school is going to get a great coach in the near future. She seems great with young kids. And, the young kids seem to love being around her. She'd probably make more money coaching as a career than playing pro ball.
