@Club_Mordor @grayap9@zagrebbi No, that’s the whole point. 1600 is a perfect score, so there is no way to know their true ability. One would need harder questions to differentiate them from each other.
@grayap9@zagrebbi I completely disagree. The true ability gap is unknown due to the ceiling effect. I got a 1570, yet I truly pale in comparison to my friend from college who got a 1600. I suspect that if the test were much harder, the ability gap would be evident.
@MikeLucasTV@BCM11 I agree that he deserves it. I mean we retired Nate Thurmond’s number for two years of mediocre play at the twilight of his career, so relative to that, Love definitely clears the bar.
@turnabouttess There is a documentary called “Escaping Twin Flames”, and it is a real mind fuck. It’s essentially an internet cult. I feel bad for the girl messaging Guki because she is clearly in deep lol
@kamrynheidi Qxh3 is unequivocally NOT a sacrifice in my opinion. The queen can’t be taken, and the intention isn’t to sacrifice the queen. It is just a blunder that runs into Qxg6. Which is by definition a “sacrifice” albeit a very temporary one. 🙃
@thestrongchess And judging by people being confused by the missed M1s, I have to assume that people are viewing it this way. The marginal loss of M2 vs. M1 is a matter of time, so it’s main value is differentiating speed rather than result. For people playing rapid it has even less meaning.
@thestrongchess Yeah, that’s fair. I guess I mean meaningless in the sense that the metric is not portraying what it seems to be at face value. If one frames it like a puzzle and assumes each M1, M2, M3 etc. is independent of one another then it makes absolutely no sense. Hence the missed M1s
@crogers_htown@junglemandan@SHAQ The bet should be voided. Height is measured in multiple ways. If the bet was “Shaq was listed at >7ft tall during his NBA career” or “Shaq is >7ft tall as measured without shoes by physician” than it may be a fair bet. Everyone needs to be on the same page about assumptions imo
Got married on Saturday!!! Here is a photo of our pre wedding blitz round robin with the groomsman 😎 That’s me in the mirror in the background. Surprisingly I beat my older brother and scored 6/6! But maybe they let me win 😂 #chesspunks#chess
@StevenDohnal@ChampChessTour@chesscom@lofigirl Because I am getting married on December 16th and my soon to be wife loves Fabiano Caruana, so if he wins the champions chess tour and signs the record it would be the greatest wedding gift ever 😎🤞
