Happy International Vulture Awareness Day !!!
Every year, on the first Saturday of September, people across the globe observe International Vulture Awareness Day (IVAD). This important occasion highlights the critical role vultures play in maintaining ecological balance as nature’s cleanup crew. Sadly, many vulture species face severe threats, including habitat loss, poisoning, and food scarcity, pushing them toward extinction. IVAD encourages conservation efforts, education, and global collaboration to protect these vital birds, ensuring healthier ecosystems and safeguarding biodiversity for future generations.

Please Save Vultures !!!
Vultures are important because they act as nature’s clean-up crew, efficiently consuming carrion to prevent the spread of diseases like rabies, botulism, and anthrax that would otherwise contaminate the environment. @World_Wildlife#vulture@WildlifeTrusts @gunsnrosesgirl3 @ChrisGPackham

National Trust ambassador at Wicken Fen.
A huge thank you to Ajay Tegala and Isabel Sedgwick for taking the time to show Aneeshwar the wonders of Wicken Fen. It was an incredible experience to see how nature, wildlife, and conservation come together in such a special place. One of the most fascinating aspects was learning about the role of Konik ponies and Highland cattle in shaping the wetlands and protecting the peatlands.
The Konik pony, a hardy breed from Eastern Europe, is perfectly adapted to the lowland landscape of Wicken Fen. Similarly, the Highland cattle, originally from Scotland’s rugged Highlands and Islands, are tough, resilient, and placid by nature. Both species are more than capable of enduring the challenges of life on the fen throughout the year, thriving on its natural vegetation. Their grazing is key to restoring the peatland at Wicken Fen, ensuring this rare habitat continues to flourish.
Equally magical has been seeing common lizards basking in the sun, boat trip and experiencing Voices of the Fen—a unique sound sculpture trail that unveils the hidden world of Wicken through 17 fascinating installations. Open daily until 28 September, it offers visitors the chance to hear the Fen like never before. Amazing work by Kathy Hinde collaboration with Babylon ARTS for community workshops led by Amy Wylie and Oliver Payne, and funded by Arts Council England
Parents, I would strongly recommend taking your children to explore the magical peatlands at Wicken Fen. Watch them discover wildlife, learn about conservation, and connect with nature, while you enjoy moments of mindfulness and calm. This National Trust site offers a unique blend of education, restoration, and peace for the whole family.
Thank you @nationaltrust Lucy Bickley Mark Funnell Paul Adcock Julia Hammond for this amazing opportunity
Please note - [It isn't possible for visitors to walk among the grazing livestock, Aneeshwar was an honourary ranger for the day and joined the daily welfare checks]
Happy International photography day.
I Love wildlife, so what better way to show the wildlife that I see through my eyes, with the sense of a camera. And I really you like my best photos that I have ever took. @nationaltrust@NatGeo@AnimalPlanet

Breathtaking yet fragile #NorthPole
Love seeing the gentle giants, walrus, gathered in the breathtaking yet fragile #ArcticCircle. These incredible animals remind us of the urgent need to protect one of Earth’s most vulnerable regions, where climate change threatens their icy home. Every action counts in preserving this vital habitat for future generations.
