Very sad to hear of the tragic death of our former family doctor. Richard Tyler helped with safe arrival of our three children and provided great health care to all of us. Quick of wit with a laconic humour he always spoke directly, plainly and clearly. https://t.co/mLPWtenS8W
Porirua Harbour and Catchments Trust photo competition is in full swing. Entries close on 7 November. Be in to win. Exhibition at Pataka early next year. https://t.co/OdUfRG8ILS.
Every day I work hard for the many thousands of supporters of @Forest_and_Bird & in doing so, I think of our founder, Cptn Val Sanderson & all our supporters who came before & will come after. Here's his pre election letter 1935. The last 2 paras couldn't be more telling. 🦌🦌🌳
Just a wee reminder for anyone in this country who thinks we're "too small" & our emissions don't matter. 1. We are small. 2. They do. A lot. We can do better. Some courageous leadership would be awesome on this... (p.s. watch the video, the evidence is in the first few seconds).
What an amazing career Tony Bennett had. A true inspiration to those with dementia. His ability to spark up and use his singing gift close to the end was fantastic. Iconic duets with Lady Gaga will stay in my favourites list. 96 what an innings!
We lost a legend today.
@ItsTonyBennett inspired the world with his music and also inspired our community using his amazing voice to raise Alzheimer's awareness after revealing his own diagnosis in 2021.
Our hearts are with his family. https://t.co/PQwSA2iRc7
Did you know Porirua Harbour was originally named Parirua, which translates to "twin flowings of the tide"? Our harbour has two arms; Onepoto, which means “short beach” and Pāuatahanui, meaning “large shellfish”.
A real treat to go to Ali Harper’s Carole King tribute show on Carole’s 80th birthday yesterday. Ali and band reflected well on Carole’s amazing music and discography. Well worth a ticket. Season closes 19 Feb at Circa.
Rung in the early hours of the morning by my boss with the shocking news of the 9/11 tragedy, told that there were many planes still in the air and confusion is seared in my memory. Paul Simon's "Sounds of Silence" is haunting tribute https://t.co/7a9QRSEQIK
