STATEMENT FROM SENATOR JAY MORRIS REGARDING COMMENTS IN
SENATE AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE HEARING TODAY
I want to assure the public that I did not use any profanity or any derogatory or pejorative term in referring to anyone in the audience at today’s Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee at the State Capitol. Audio obtained by a news organization in the room confirms this. I was frustrated when, as I was trying to answer questions from committee members, people in the audience directly behind me were continuing to comment and talk loudly enough so that it was hard for me to concentrate and answer questions. As a result, when my testimony was completed and I stood up, I said “you all need to shut up”, as those seated behind me had ignored admonitions by the Committee Chair. I never used any profanity or derogatory term, as the news-recorded audio proves. I did not know who the people sitting behind me were, but I have learned that some have involvement in political parties and should have known better than to falsely accuse me of things to make a political point. I do appreciate that no matter how much we as senators disagree, or how much I disagree with any testimony or opinions expressed in public hearings, it is important to remember that transparency and public hearings are a critical part of our democracy. However, the participants should respect decorum and not resort to falsehoods to further a political agenda.
NEW: Michael Shellenberger asks Joe Rogan point-blank if he is a Christian after Rogan said he has been going to church for the last few years.
Rogan: "I'm fascinated by the story of Jesus Christ... I can't find a flaw in the way [Jesus] tells you to live..."
Shellenberger: "Are you Christian?"
Rogan: "Well, I go to church... I've been doing it for the last three or four years."
Shellenberger: "But that's not really an answer to the question."
Rogan: "Well, 'cause I don't know... I think it's very interesting, and I do believe that if you follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, you will live a better life. I really do believe that."
RFK Jr: "There are studies coming out of Stanford and Harvard that show a lot of mental illness, including anxiety and depression, are related to food."
Improving your diet will save your life.
Thank you, @TysonFoods, for cutting high-fructose corn syrup from your branded products by year’s end. I call on every food company to follow your lead and join the movement to Make America Healthy Again.
NOW — Utah Gov. Spencer Cox: “I want to be very clear that this is a political assassination … And I just want to remind people that we still have the death penalty here in the state of Utah.”
OMG, this is amazing!
🚨 RFK JR says they are FORCING Medical Schools and those who administer MCAT testing, to put NUTRITION into medical school education
“Doctors only know how to prescribe drugs… but If you come out of a medical school under the Trump administration, you are going to know about diet.”
This is such a huge win for the health and wellbeing of Americans. Can you imagine? Doctors will start giving nutritional advice to people who have diabetes or is pre-diabetic, rather than prescribing them petroleum-based medicine.
