@ArminRosen Watching a bunch of out of shape and out of practice performers try to nostalgia blast us was comical in 2022, but I wouldn’t say it was good by any means. Like…they barely got through it. I thought 50 was gonna keel over.
People will probably overreact to this stat (if it holds). But in most of the QF games, it’s been simple — the better team won the game.
They could move the whole CFP up a week to shorten the long layoff for teams, though.
Kind of sort of tired of reporters telling us this. Did the Same with OU/Bama. Fans know when they see this type of game…this ain’t it. TTU offense isn’t competent. Is some of that ORE D? Sure, but that isn’t the majority of the it. Just plain bad football on one side.
@colecubelic Since January 1, 2025 that team has played 15 games, all under the gun of win-or-else. In that time they’ve had injuries that affected draft stocks and even next season. They don’t anyone anything; certainly not to play an exhibition game. It’s their call to say “nah, no thanks.”
@ChaseDaniel No because NDs boss sat at the table and demanded it. Texas and Vandys boss agreed to it didn’t demand the same for them. That’s the difference
The final AP Poll of the regular season:
9. Notre Dame
10. Miami
11. Alabama
The gap between Notre Dame and Miami in voting is bigger than the gap between Miami and Alabama. Notre Dame is also closer to No. 8 Oklahoma in voting than No. 10 Miami.
@ChaseDaniel@chucktodd People saying 10-2 with losses to two 4 loss teams is the same as 10-2 with losses to two teams with a combined 3 lossss is nonsensical even when a H2H exists.
Miami fans deal with Manny Diaz making the championship game before them, blaming Jim Phillips, and refusing to look in the mirror follow losses to 2, four-loss teams 😂
Imagine having to actually make this argument and then turning around and acting like they’re being denied if they miss the CFP. Making the ACC championship game is the must-be-this-tall-to-ride sign for an ACC CFP team.
@AriWasserman@AndyStaples Know why Miami isn’t playing a Top 12 Pitt team this weekend? Bc ND blew # 23 Pitt off the face of the planet. Know why ORE didn’t beat a Top 12 USC team last week? Because ND beat # 20 USC by 10 while rushing for 300 yards. Saying and doesn’t have quality Ws is just fictional.
@BrooksAustinBA think this out…if MIA doesn’t play ND to start the season they probably end up playing either a midcard G4 or P5. Probably aren’t getting a a T10 team that weekend by chance. So Miami would be 10-2 with no good wins, 2 bad losses, and be ranked like 18th. Maybe don’t sched FCS?
