#Venezuela is #Iraq all over again, but without a full-scale war.
When the villain is a brown man, it makes justifying the imperial looting easier.
It is totally shocking, unfair & unjust for the SC to deny bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjil Imam. They have not been accused of violence themselves, but of Conspiracy. There are multiple videos of their speeches, where they speak against violence.
They have spent 5 years in Jail w/o trial. Yet the SC denies bail on the basis of police statements of ‘protected witnesses’, whose identities have been concealed.
Shameful, & makes a mockery of the right to life & liberty

Let’s not pretend there isn’t a silence around this.
Kashmiri lives are demonized to the point where a father takes his own life after being denied the chance to see his son- a suspect, not even proven guilty.
In the world’s largest democracy, the basic human rights of Kashmiris seem to matter less and less.
The Embassy and Team Korea visited Himachal Pradesh to co-host an economic seminar with the State Government and CII, exploring ways to deepen bilateral cooperation. We also held a Team Korea CSR donation event to support communities affected by monsoon floods and landslides.
So a clear message being sent by the Yogi govt to mob lynchers. You have a free hand against Muslims. This is also the message by him to those who use bulldozers to demolish Muslim homes. This despite the SC judgement.
Is there rule of law left in this country? Courts must ponder
NEW: Italian prosecutors are investigating claims that wealthy Italians and other foreigners paid to travel to Bosnia in the early 1990s for “sniper safaris,” shooting civilians in besieged Sarajevo from Serb-held positions.
The allegation—based on new testimony gathered by journalist Ezio Gavazzeni—suggests tourists paid different rates to kill men, women, or children.

Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia Hosts Lecture by Shri Prakash Singh, IPS (Retd.) on “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility”
The Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, under the visionary leadership of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia, organized a special lecture on “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility” on November 2, 2025, as part of the University’s 105th Foundation Day celebrations and the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025. The event was held at the FTK–CIT Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia, and witnessed an inspiring confluence of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
The session commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the Jamia Tarana, setting a solemn and reverent tone for the morning. Professor Ghulam Yazdani, Dean,F/o Law delivered the Welcome Address, where he underscored the need for academic institutions to instil ethical consciousness among future professionals.
The keynote address was delivered by Shri Prakash Singh, IPS (Retd.), former Director General of Police (Uttar Pradesh and Assam) and former Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). Widely acclaimed as one of India’s most upright and reform-oriented police officers, Shri Singh has long been known for his crusade against corruption and administrative inertia.
In his address, Shri Singh shared gripping accounts from his long and eventful career, highlighting the formidable challenges he faced while bringing powerful politicians to justice. He spoke candidly about his landmark petition before the Supreme Court of India, which ultimately led to the historic Police Reforms Judgment, restructuring the accountability framework of policing in the country. He also reflected upon the disturbing rise in criminal liabilities and the sharp increase in assets of political figures, noting that such trends pose a grave threat to public integrity and governance.
Shri Singh recalled the attempts on his life by terrorist groups, recounting them not as moments of fear but as tests of courage and conviction. Despite the numerous obstacles he encountered, including the inability to take firm action against certain corrupt bureaucrats and police officers due to systemic resistance, he remained steadfast in his mission for a cleaner and more accountable system. His narrative was a powerful reminder that true vigilance demands moral strength, not merely institutional compliance.
Following his address, Shri Prakash Singh was felicitated by Professor Ghulam Yazdani and Dr. Subhradipta Sarkar, Associate Professor, in recognition of his lifelong service to the nation and his unwavering commitment to ethical governance.
Dr. Sarkar later moderated an engaging Question-and-Answer Session, during which students and faculty members interacted with the distinguished speaker, seeking insights into the ethical dilemmas faced by civil servants and law-enforcement agencies.
The programme concluded with an Oath-Taking Ceremony, reaffirming the participants’ collective pledge towards integrity and transparency, followed by the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
The event stood as a tribute to Jamia Millia Islamia’s enduring values of truth, justice, and social responsibility. Shri Prakash Singh, who has consistently fought against the vices of the system while remaining honest and resolute in his principles, emerged as the most fitting voice for the occasion—an inspiration for generations of students and citizens alike.
