देशातील आणि विशेषतः महाराष्ट्रातील सरकारी शाळांच्या दयनीय अवस्थेचा मुद्दा संसदेत उपस्थित करण्यात आला होता, पण सरकार पुतळे, स्मारके आणि धार्मिक कार्यक्रमांवर कोट्यवधी रुपये खर्च करण्यात व्यस्त होते. आजही नाशिक कुंभमेळ्यासाठी केंद्र आणि राज्य सरकार मिळून २५,०५५ कोटी रुपये खर्च करणार आहेत! कल्पना करा, जर ही रक्कम ग्रामीण भागातील शाळा आणि महाविद्यालयांवर खर्च केली असती तर. माझ्या छत्रपती संभाजीनगर (औरंगाबाद) मध्ये अधिकाऱ्यांनी कबूल केले आहे की, एकट्या जिल्ह्यातच ३३० शाळा अशा आहेत ज्यांना पत्र्याचे शेड आहेत! तसे, जे लोक या पोस्टवर नकारात्मक प्रतिक्रिया देतील, त्यांना हेही माहित असले पाहिजे की आम्ही हजसाठीच्या सरकारी अनुदानालाही विरोध केला होता. आम्हाला फक्त माहित आहे... पढेगा इंडिया तो बढेगा इंडिया.

This issue of dilapidated condition of government schools in the country and specially in Maharashtra was raised in the Parliament but the government was busy in spending crores on statues, memorials and religious events. Even today for the Nashik Kumbh mela the centre and state together Will be spending 25,055 crore! Imagine if this amount is spent on schools and colleges in rural areas. In my Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) officials admitted that there are 330 schools in the district alone which have tin sheds!
