@MSPowerBI any known issues with dataflows?
All Australian east coast dataflows failing , multiple tenants , multiple sources , shared capacities.
Error messages indicate an issue accessing azure storage blobs
@SteveBlumeSEC@KetanJ0@OskaArcher Combination of factors involved, but trends by region are clearer.
- system upgrades not captured
- supply chain delays
- FITs reduced, changing economics
Effects of 2021 installs and increase in kW per install starting to show in NEM rooftop PV results ~1GW higher than SPLY.
@MSPowerBI#PowerBI#dataflows#fail in shared capacity. Australian east coast not a single dataflow has successfully completed in the last 12 hours. Understand there are weekly updates being deployed, but to claim everything is fine is just not truthful.
#PowerBI folks
Has anyone else noticed a discrepancy in versions of the on premises data gateway from the download centre?
It seems we have a new version 138.3 dated yesterday, but installs as July version 134.9?
@GreyskullPBI@kevarnold@szBigDan@ehansalytics Too many to mention
The standard MS support answer is that’s intermittent failure.
Then the next sentence “if you had this in premium. . .”
@mim_djo Is that dataflow in shared or premium capacity @mim_djo ? If it’s just PRO shared , then you’re at the mercy of whatever’s running at the time - not just your stuff. Be prepared for this to fall over randomly every other week. 🤷
@mim_djo@PawarBI Now its in PRO shared capacity, watch it go from a stable 40 minute execution to 2 hours and timeout error randomly every other week.😠
@wynhopkins@InsightsMachine Default is to version 14 if not specified in the optional api parameter.
Changes the form of response from SharePoint.
Prepare for issues with anything related to hidden items and locale specific datetimes in my experience
@ehansalytics@mim_djo@dataveld Simple search of “dataflow” on the community issues page reveals just how endemic the failures are.
Every week another excuse and delayed timeline for resolution
Every week another service patch deployment prioritising resources from shared capacity and causing prod failures.
@MSPowerBI@JuanAstudillo87 Total failure ALL Dataflows in shared capacity this morning AEDT.
This is the 5th week running that 🇦🇺 East Coast services fall over on a Friday AM.
Your support team acknowledges that service deployments are taking place each time, but cant provide a solution.
#powerbifail
@marykh88@PowerBI@MSPowerBI , your support page is not factual.
All dataflows failing (4 Friday's in row)
Multiple data sources
Gateway / No-gateway don't matter
Multiple tenants
Multiple community threads similar issues
Blaming end users telling them to on-demand refresh?

🧵 Budget next month! Big chance to double down on our biggest economic opportunity… decarbonisation.
It isn’t an “environment portfolio” issue. It is an all of economy issue 🇳🇿🌏
@joshfrydenberg, if decarbonisation wasn’t just a mention, it could look something like this 👇🏻
@KratosBi@mim_djo@alexdupler A much easier sell if the reliability of the PRO shared capacity is consistent.
Right now, for the third week running on a Friday PM in Oz, we have all dataflows falling over while MS run a service deployment.
No customer is going to double their costs with PPU unless it runs
AEMO is forecasting LOR2 and LOR3 conditions in Queensland this afternoon, signalling a significant shortage in reserves compared to pre-determined requirements. If required, AEMO will activate 'out of market' reserves through the Reliability & Emergency Reserve Trader mechanism.
@mim_djo Customers currently on #PowerBI Pro need a demonstration of consistent and reliable performance on current platform before they will effectively double their costs with even entry level PPU. Unfortunately their experience is currently very poor. ☹️
