Have any of you thought about how we could use TV in the classroom? We use film so often, but I’d argue students now a days are exposed to tv so much more it would almost be more relatable, I’ve always wondered how a Television class would go in a highschool classroom #TSUEngMAE
@madel_padel Have you read “One Of Us is Lying”? By @writerkmc? It’s a great YA murder mystery book that both my teen sisters sped read! It’s the book I did my YA reader research project on in YA lit! #TSUEngMAE
A6. One great way the NCTE has helped me advance my expertise and also teaching beyond a classroom has been the journals and blogs! So many great minds to learn from! #NCTE20#NCTEchat
A4. While I haven’t had my own classroom yet I've been watching and learning from the teachers around me and one thing Ive noticed is while all the texts might not be the same, connections can always be made in students minds! #NCTE20#NCTEchat
A3. I’m just starting my teaching career, and so for those of you who have been teaching this year what have been the best things you have seen transfer over to online teaching? Is there anything you really suggest doing? #NCTE20#NCTEchat
A1. I’ve never been to a NCTE convention before but I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts and ideas being shared in an online setting as it’s a great way for more people to join in!

@glc5475 I’m in the same boat, Gina! I totally wish my high school would have spent more time on nonfiction, or shown us how exciting it could be! #TSUEngMAE
Has anyone else just has so much trouble deciding which nonfiction text to use for their RLAET this week? There are so many good books and essays to choose from it was such a difficult decision! #TSUEngMAE
I've been reflecting on our class this week and just astounded at the fact that the lessons revolved around the two topics I've been working on unit plans for, and y'all came up with amazing ideas I never would have thought of! great job guys! #TSUEngMAE
@KellyBockerste1 I've been working on a unit plan for 608 that is focusing on the strong emotions and types of relationships in Romeo and Juliet rather than focusing on fate vs choice! While I've only been able to test my lessons on college students it feel more relatable already! #TSUEngMAE
@summerpennell I'm a little late to this, but something I've seen from a lot of teachers is asking students what they would like/need to talk about regarding the election because I've been reminded that for many students this could be their first real political thoughts outside of their parents
