Tragic News š
DNA test results have confirmed that the unidentified body deposited at an Ikorodu mortuƤry was that of Pelumi Onifade.
- In 2020, Nigerian youths took to the streets during the #EndSARS protests. One of the reporters covering the event was Onifade Emmanuel Pelumi.
- On October 24, 2020, Pelumi was arrested and taken away by police officers in Agege despite explaining that he was a reporter. He was also wearing a jacket identifying him as a member of the press.
- A few days later, an unidentified body was discovered at a mƓrtuary in Ikorodu, Lagos, and it was speculated that the body belonged to Pelumi Onifade.
- In July 2024, the Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the Lagos State Government to conduct a coronerās inquest to determine the cause of Pelumiās death and identify those responsible.
- The court also ordered the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) to perform a post-mortem examination on the unidentified body received from Ikorodu.
- LASUTH stated that Pelumiās body could not initially be identified because DNA samples held at the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre were dĆ«stroyed during the October 2020 #EndSARS unrest.
- After prolonged back-and-forth between the hospital and the court, a DNA test was eventually conducted using a sample provided by Pelumiās mother.
- The magistrate revealed that the report confirmed a DNA match between the previously unidentified body and the sample provided by Pelumiās mother.
- This development brings a painful confirmation for Pelumiās family and loved ones, who have endured years of uncertainty while seeking answers and closure.
- Their counsel is now calling for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Pelumiās de@th.
- The case has been adjourned until July 7, 2026.
May the soul of the departed rest in peace. š

The kidnappers made my brother call my dad yesterday at 6:34pm.
The call was made using my brother's phone number.
They are demanding for 50m.
My dad called back and the number was unreachable.
The kidnap took place around 9am on Sunday Morning, his car was found close to Y junction in Nkwelle, Oyi local government area of Anambra State.
An eyewitness informed us that he was double crossed by a hilux with armed men in military outfits, he was not alone in the car, he was on his way to church with a girl and they were both taken.
This is the recorded call that was made to my dad and a video of where his car was found.

Guys!! Itās cold very outside! I just stepped outside my house to feel it. And if itās this cold in Lagos, itās colder in Ibadan and much even colder in the bushes! These children and their teachers are shivering right now! This is their 27th night! God!šš
I will never understand the point of this thought-process. You clearly weren't attracted to this man and you wouldn't be happy if you were currently married to him, so why do you care how his life is playing out?
