Ethiopia: Belligerent Agenda of Regional Destabilization;
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Research and Documentation Division)
*"...Over the past two years, Ethiopia’s Prosperity Party (PP) regime has indulged in a reckless and insidious agenda of belligerence and destabilization against the State of Eritrea and the wider region. The hostile and unprovoked agenda has often been framed and rationalized in 'existential' terms; as the 'imperative for sovereign access to the sea' in the regime’s hyperbolic parlance".
*"...The elusive and toxic agenda continues to be flaunted by invoking and recycling fallacious and revisionist historical narratives; alluding to demographic factors that revolve around Ethiopia’s relatively big and growing population size; as well as reciting abstract economic parameters and correlations that are at odds, and in contravention with, foundational pillars of international law".
*"...From the foregoing chronology of events and facts, it is palpably clear that the PP regime’s misguided and deplorable agendas, which have no basis in law and history, are anathema to regional peace and stability. And while remaining committed to constructive regional engagement and peaceful cooperation, Eritrea, for its part, firmly rejects any claims or actions that infringe upon its sovereignty and territorial integrity in flagrant contravention of international law. As underlined on various occasions in the past two years, the Government of Eritrea has no interest or appetite to engage in an acronymous agenda of conflict and turmoil. It remains resolutely committed to peace, stability, and the responsible management of regional relations".

Profile Q & A - “Medicine is my Duty; Writing is my therapy”: An Interview with Dr. Ruth Ghirmay; by Kidane Shimendi
Words of wisdom and inspiration:
*"...Personally, March 8 is a testament to the endurance of the Eritrean woman. In my field, I witness women’s strength during the most vulnerable and powerful moments of life—childbirth. I see them as the primary healers and educators of our society. Even Broken Wings Fly is dedicated to that very spirit of overcoming".
*"...As a practitioner in obstetrics and gynecology, March 8 is deeply personal to me. I see women as the 'light of the family' and the backbone of our nation’s health. My work is dedicated to ensuring that every woman’s wings are strong enough to fly—by providing them with the medical advocacy and care they deserve".

“There is a powerful symbol that represents the resilience and determination of #Eritrean women. It is called Qnat (ቅናት).
I call on every Eritrean woman to take our mothers’ Qnat and tie it firmly around our waist. Let it remind us of our strength. Let it remind us of our responsibility. Wherever we live, in Eritrea or across the diaspora, let us protect the unity of our families. Strong families create strong communities. Strong communities create a strong nation.” @Mebrak_G Mebrak Ghebreweldi
https://t.co/AHlsMwmv1B
“Qnat is more than a piece of cloth. It is a metaphor for resilience, determination, and discipline. When life becomes difficult Eritrean women tighten their Qnat and continue working. To tighten one’s qnat is to prepare for action with resolve and courage, to steady oneself for the demands of struggle.
Our mothers were the true pillars of the Eritrean family. They were the leaders who raised a generation of young men and women who later became freedom fighters. They raised children who were willing to sacrifice everything for dignity and independence.
Thousands of Eritrean women accepted that risk without hesitation. They provided shelter. They carried messages. They delivered medicine. They passed information. They raised funds. They protected fighters. Without these women the armed struggle could not have survived.
Without the Eritrean mother, there would have been no generation of freedom fighters. It was the Eritrean mother who nurtured courage. It was the Eritrean mother who blessed her children and sent them to fight for justice and dignity. She did not do this lightly. She did this because she believed that freedom was worth sacrifice

Preserving the Essence of Eritrean Christmas:
A Call for Authentic Cultural and Spiritual Traditions
By Ghenet Umikael
In #Eritrea, Christmas has its own deep-rooted meaning and tradition. Christian Christmas is observed on May 7 and begins in church, with prayer, mass, and spiritual reflection. It continues with family gatherings, shared meals, and acts of charity, especially helping and feeding the poor.
Traditionally, Eritreans do not use Santa Claus, Christmas trees, gift exchanges, or decorative artefacts. These symbols are foreign to our religious and cultural history, and many people in Eritrea are unfamiliar with their origins. Our celebration is spiritual and communal, not commercial.
Learning from other cultures can be valuable, particularly in areas such as education, science, and technology. However, when borrowed traditions begin to override or replace core cultural and religious practices, they create confusion and gradually erode identity.
Today, younger generations are increasingly exposed to imported symbols and holidays, often without understanding their origins or how they differ from Eritrean values. Cultural preservation is not rejection of others; it is respect for who we are and for the spiritual and cultural traditions that have sustained our society for generations.
This is #Eritrea !
Nestled in the untouched wilds of Eritrea's Southern Red Sea, crystalline turquoise waters caress jagged black rocks, while far-off islands stand as ancient guardians under a boundless sapphire sky—a vision of raw, breathtaking beauty. 🇪🇷🌊🏝️
