When a nurse visited him in his village post-op, she found that he was proudly taking care of his family by farming. Previously, his family had to feed, clothe, and support him.

While delivering food packs to a pygmy village in Gabon, Ophthalmologist & Medical Missionary Dr. Wendy Hofman discovered this gentleman, blind and sitting in the dark. Her team brought him to the hospital and performed cataract surgery on him.

While he was there, he heard the #Gospel every morning from the chaplain and decided to receive Christ as his Savior. His vision was restored.

Dr. Wendy Hofman is a MedSend alumna serving as an #ophthalmologist in Gabon. In #Africa, ophthalmologists are rare – only 1 for every million people. Most aren't trained for surgery; her team does about 80% of cataract surgeries there. Patients travel days to get to her clinic.
