@theblanketdog Like it or not, medicine has been all about documentation. 99% of the time they’re calling you so they can write in the chart that they spoke to you. No one actually gives a shit what you’re gonna do.
@theblanketdog Would you rather us just throw your name in the chart and say we spoke to you even though we didn’t? If something terrible happens to that patient you’re gonna be on the hook as well if that’s the case.
@JaniegrrrlAZ @AjKavanaugh Medical school is way more expensive than any of those you just mentioned. Not to mention much harder. The salary and compensation should be higher. Why is a PA making more than a resident doctor?
@jbcarmody Obviously if you want to be a neurosurgeon, do not apply carribean. But most other specialties are 100% attainable, many of my classmates matched into competitive specialties
@jbcarmody Im a US IMG,-the img route has its BS for sure, but if you can make it through the first two years i would say you will be just fine. I had 40+ interviews and matched into my top choice in the specialty I long desired before even entering med school
@BlackSheepAwake@ashleyfxxx The doctors dont get any of that money. Doctors are paid a flat salary. That money goes to the insurance companies, hospital administrators.
@PotatoAcolyte@joshmcgoo I’m a brown/black/low socioeconomic individual and I never felt I was being “shamed” but I understand where you are coming from. Thanks for your insight.
@studentdoc_Cole @SamanthaTall You can edit and re-certify as many times as you want before march 2nd 9pm est. after that the last list you certified goes into the match algorithm. 👍🏽
@AlghalayiniLulu@MedFitBlondie For sure, props to you and there are obviously ways to compensate for weaker scores but this was just my observation 🤷🏽♂️
