Every juror's vote is supposed to matter. But the KKK helped pass a law in Oregon to silence only certain juror's voices. So they could convict whoever they wanted. The Supreme Court finally struck this law down. But people are still imprisoned by it.
Until recently Oregon was 1 of only 2 states allowing non-unanimous verdicts, meaning only 10/12 jurors had to agree to convict. Today, COC joins the launch of https://t.co/BHX0ucmRAi, which seeks retroactive accountability & justice for Oregonians tried by a Jim Crow jury.
