Advancing womenโs health in Africa through AI-powered solutions and community-driven initiatives to ensure accessible and equitable care. ๐๏ธ๐ป๐
Every year, cervical cancer claims 350,000 lives, most in sub-Saharan Africa. In Rwanda, weโre showing how AI can help nurses detect it early.
Our miniโdocumentary follows MednTechโs journey bringing tech to the frontlines of womenโs health. ๐ก๐

AI governance starts before deployment.
Before AI enters routine care, we need clear answers on:
1. clinical responsibility
2. data governance
3. performance monitoring
Responsible implementation starts early.
What makes a clinic ready for AI?
From our current expansion work in Rwanda: infrastructure, staff readiness, data management and workflow integration.
The system around the tool matters.
The nonprofit sector scores 1.99 out of 4 on AI readiness. Fewer than one in ten organizations rate fully ready.
The tools are moving faster than the strategy. Five questions to close some of that gap ๐

We're partnering with the @RwandaNCDA !
Cervical cancer is highly preventable. Screening works. But women won't show up for a test no one has ever explained to them.
Awareness is the first mile of prevention. With RNCDA, that's where we start.
We're in! ๐ MednTech has been selected for @TechToTheRescue 's AI Impact Scaling Program.
12 months. Technical depth, expert matching, peer community. Our goal is simple: reach far more women, faster. ๐

Cervical cancer mortality projected to rise 80.7% by 2050.
The burden falls almost entirely on LMICs. The tools exist. The gap is access. At MedNTech, we are working to close it.

Most health AI tools never launch at scale.
A 2026 survey of 2,041 healthcare leaders found the top barriers are confidence gaps, poor workflow fit, and missing community and government buy-in.
Building with local institutions from day one is how we approach this.
When workers use digital health tools that fit their workflow, coverage improves. When they help design those tools, adoption follows.
The evidence from Africa is consistent on this.
#FrontlineHealth#AIForGood#WomensHealth#DigitalHealth
77,000 African women die from cervical cancer every year, despite it being largely preventable.
Only 21% have ever been screened. WHO target: 70% by 2030.
The gap is structural. AI-assisted screening is part of the answer.

Behind every cervical cancer screening is a conversation. A woman asking questions. A health worker explaining what will happen. A moment of trust that determines whether she comes back.
A study across 10 countries found that cervical screening invitations contained fewer than 20% of the information women need to make an informed decision. Information transforms the encounter.
A woman who understands what is happening becomes an active participant in her own health.

Eliminating #cervicalcancer will require:
โข accessible screening
โข confident providers
โข integrated referral pathways
โข national alignment
We contribute to this broader ecosystem by co-designing tools and participatory approaches that reinforce health systems.
A healthy woman doesn't just survive, she leads, builds, shows up fully.
But too often, preventable diseases still interrupt that possibility. Screening removes a barrier between her and everything she's capable of. That's what we're here for.
Happy International Women's Day, to every woman who deserves to show up fully, for herself and for the world. ๐

At MednTech, we designed CerviScanner with this question in mind:
What does it take to work beyond a pilot?
That means:
โข fitting into national screening workflows that integrate into healthcare systems.
โข aligning with @WHO 90โ70โ90 cervical cancer elimination targets.
โข supporting decision-making needs and referrals to enhance treatment. #CervicalCancer
Cervical cancer screening works when women trust it. The best visit looks like a shared conversation: a nurse explains, a woman understands and leaves informed about next steps. Trust gets women through the door, and early detection does the rest.
