After Governors Mohammed Lawal and Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, who made Kwara more civilized, it is only SYD who can create the layout and turn our state into a green land with momentum for the future of Kwara State.

L-R: The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly and the APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu with the Minister for Youth Development, Hon Ayodele Olawande after a fruitful meeting held on Friday in Abuja. They discussed topics related to advancing youth inclusion in governance and empowerment amongst other things.
While Peter Obi have always shouted "China went back to China" without proffer solutions or alternatives to Nigeria’s economic issues, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda have executed landmark, decisive reforms that are yielding macroeconomic stabilization and growth that is now being acknowledged by international community.
Fuel subsidy removal in 2023 ended a corrupt, unsustainable drain saving trillions annually and averting Nigeria from going bankrupt. The Tinub redirected subsidy funds to infrastructure, agriculture, and social investments, with the economy showing recovery, GDP growth averaging above 3.5%+ after the reforms, with foreign reserves now above $50bn which was last witnessed 17 years ago.
Unification of foreign exchange rate has also eliminated multiple exchange rates and arbitrage that fueled corruption among the bureau-d-change operators. This policy has stabilized the naira, boosted investor confidence, improved reserves, and supported export competitiveness.
Tax Reforms has also streamlined revenue collection, raising tax-to-GDP to above 13.5% and it promotes efficiency, reduces multiple taxation, and funds development without over-reliance on oil.
GDP rebasing is another reform that have driven positive GDP growth, for example, 3.89% in Q1 2026, non-oil sector expansion, and credit rating improvements, positioning Nigeria for sustainable progress despite short-term pains.

As we commemorate Democracy Day (June 12) today, I join the rest of our country to pay glowing tributes to the heroes of the struggle for the restoration of civil rule to Nigeria. We remember Chief MKO Abiola, widely accepted as the symbol of that struggle, and other patriots who paid the supreme price. The ultimate satisfaction is that we have remained steadfast on this democratic journey for 27 unbroken years despite the rough edges.
My message to Kwarans and fellow citizens across the nation is to stay resolute, guard our hard-earned struggle jealously, and work together to defeat the evil forces threatening our peace, security and development.
Our administration remains committed to entrenching the ideals of democracy and spreading its dividends to all. I, therefore, welcome contributions on ways to forge ahead at all times. I want to reassure Kwarans that we will see the end of the security breaches in some parts of the state. I am in constant engagement with relevant stakeholders to ensure sustainable peace and safety across our communities, including freeing our compatriots still in captivity.
I urge us all to stay united as one great people with uncommon love for our state and country. With everyone contributing their part, Nigeria will become stronger, greater, and more prosperous.
I congratulate the leader of our nation, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the National Assembly, the Judiciary, various government institutions, the media, and the civil society on this important occasion. I wish everyone a Happy Democracy.

HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON
Governor, Kwara State/Chairman, Nigeria Governors' Forum
Yesterday, I had the honour of visiting revered traditional and religious leaders across the Ilorin Emirate, where I received royal blessings, heartfelt prayers, and invaluable words of encouragement ahead of the journey before us.
I paid homage to the Balogun Gambari, Balogun Ajikobi, Balogun Alanamu, Balogun Fulani, Magaji Are, Baba Isale, Imam Imale, and the Daudu Faagba, head of the Oroganloye royal house, as part of my continued engagement with key stakeholders across our dear state.
I remain deeply humbled by the warmth, acceptance, and overwhelming support shown to us throughout the visits. The prayers offered for our ambition and for the continued success of the administration of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, are truly appreciated and will never be taken for granted.
One of the most emotional moments of the tour was receiving the Holy Qur’an and the symbolic emblem of the Emirate’s authority from the Daudu Faagba, Alhaji Alabi Ola Sulaiman. It is a deeply treasured gesture that represents trust, responsibility, service, and the enduring values of the Ilorin Emirate.
I am grateful to our fathers, leaders, party faithful, and supporters whose prayers and encouragement continue to strengthen my resolve to serve Kwara State with sincerity, humility, and dedication.
By the grace of Almighty Allah, we will continue to build on the remarkable achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and take Kwara State to even greater heights.
Last week, as part of my routine engagements with stakeholders, I stopped at the residence of my big brother and a chieftain of our party, the APC, Mallam Abdulazeez Yinka Oniyangi, where I spent quality time with his family.
Our discussion was fruitful and has further strengthened our relationship as members of the ruling party. In unity lies our strength, and as APC members, we remain a united, big family.

☑️ Free Technical Education in Nigeria (tuition, accommodation, and meals)
☑️ TVET Initiative (tuition-free training and start-up support for selected trades in high-demand sectors)
☑️ Tax reforms
☑️ LG autonomy (in progress)

In a swift intelligence-led operation, the Oyo State Police Command has rescued a woman and her twin sons who were abducted by a kidnapping syndicate, demonstrating effective coordination in tackling violent crime in the region.
The rescue followed a distress report received from family of victims after which operatives from the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) and other tactical units launched a manhunt that combined crime scene analysis, digital tracking, and surveillance.
A major breakthrough came with the arrest of key suspect Wale Abolalewa, also known as “Oloro,” a figure already on the police watchlist. His interrogation provided vital leads that helped unravel the network and locate the gang’s hideout in Lado community, Ayegun, Ibadan.
Police stormed the hideout in a coordinated raid. Two kidnappers, identified as Kelechi, who served as lookout and opened fire, and another unidentified gang member were neutralised during an exchange of gunfire. The victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.
Four other suspects are currently in custody: Dare Oyedele (alias “Solution”), described as a principal operational figure involved in surveillance, planning, and execution.
Semiu Ishola (39 years), who facilitated the use of the criminal hideout.
Adeyemi Ayobami (35 years), who assisted in securing the hideout.
Wale Abolalewa (“Oloro”), who participated in the planning and execution of the abduction.
Investigations revealed the syndicate had conducted extended surveillance on the victims’ family, including monitoring routines, photographing vehicles and school premises, and attempting to recruit a household staff member in May 2026. The abduction was executed using an unregistered ash-coloured Toyota Corolla.
Exhibits recovered during the operation include three pump-action rifles, 14 live cartridges, the suspected abduction vehicle, criminal charms, a battle axe, a hammer, suspected hard drugs, and face masks.
