😱📌🇺🇸💔🆘There is an insane effort afoot by the Republican Party in a number of US states (Nevada etc) to disenfranchise American voters who are overseas simply because, quite ludicrously, they are “not physically present in the United States at their most recent voting place.”

This is unheard of and is an outrage!

This is also violation of US federal voting law guarantees, but they are proceeding anyway (to “crack down on illegal voting”) and are trying to purge voter rolls, often without even telling the U.S. voter in question they are challenging or removing them …

(This could also be part of their tea leave reading and realizing that a strong majority of Americans overseas now oppose Donald Trump and MAGA—and vote accordingly.)

Q: Would you support the idea that if any American citizen/taxpayer is illegitimately denied his or her right to vote simply by virtue of being overseas—whether on assignment, for family business, military service, or any similar reason—then, until their voting rights are restored, they should have no obligation to file or pay federal taxes?

I think it’s a fair solution. To me, it would certainly align with the spirit of “no taxation without representation.”
