One of my difficult but important realizations in adulthood was that there are rarely “right” or “wrong” choices, just different paths to take. With every choice we make, we have to mourn the loss of all we didn't choose. In this way, growth & grief are inextricably intertwined.
I *really* hate the time change, y'all. As someone who is exquisitely sensitive to the need for sleep, I wonder every year "WHY DO WE HAVE TO DO THIS???" But since we do, I appreciate these tips. Be safe out there.

Today we mourn the loss of a true giant on our field. Grateful for the work of colleagues Steve Hollon and Aaron Brinen @recoverWithCBT among many others who carry the torch.

Missed this the first time around. Still resonates. “While burnout places the blame (and thus the responsibility) on the individual and tells working moms they aren’t resilient enough, betrayal points directly to the broken structures around them.”
My latest for @nytimes on working mom “burn out”. Spoiler alert: this isn’t burn out. This is much more. This is systemic betrayal.

@Rwilkinson94 @rcpsych That's right. We are facing a mental health crisis now because of a failure to invest resources in early intervention and meeting basic needs. Parents (and all adults) as well as children need to be able to access high quality health care.
Exciting new work from @CWalshMD and team. If we can predict who is at risk, can we also provide access to lifesaving treatment?
