While the data quality can be important, the number of GCs is the dominant factor in terms of the accuracy and precision of the measurement of the DM mass. This work shows promising results for these models to be used in extragalactic systems with a sample of more than 150 GCs 2/
It's paper day! In this paper (https://t.co/O7JXeeLpFk) we aim to test how well the Jeans-Anisotropic-MGE models constrain the mass and radial distribution of dark matter halos, when using GCs as the tracer population. We do this using the E-MOSAICS suite of MW-mass galaxies 1/
Paper day! Check out our paper on "Linking globular cluster formation at low and high redshift through the age-metallicity relation in E-MOSAICS" (https://t.co/39zFKD8xbH) /1
In conclusion: We find N-rich stars (when accounting for the selection function of APOGEE) contribute a much higher fraction to the stellar halo in the inner Galaxy when compared to the outer regions, which we speculate may be linked to an early merger history of the Galaxy. /8
It's PAPER day! You can now find our paper entitled "Evidence from APOGEE for the presence of a major building block of the halo buried in the inner Galaxy" on the arXiv https://t.co/FC54JRlDcv. 1/10
I want to reach out and ask if anyone would be willing to sort of โmentorโ me on how to get an internship at NASA for next summer. I would love to DM, email, or do some Zoom or WebEx calls! Please share this tweet! Thanks again! โจโค๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ
