I went to grad school with a woman who upon graduation went to live in another country on a work visa for a year. She loved it so much and applied to stay for 6 more months and they approved it. Then she applied for another 6 months and they denied it, so she had to go back home. I remember her telling me about it and how sad she was that she couldn’t stay longer.

Fast forward to now, about 10 years later, and her entire personality is about how much she hates ICE and sympathy for immigrants. It’s strange to me because apparently she believes in following immigration laws of other countries, but then turns around and thinks America shouldn’t have any? How does one arrive at such a position?
