@DeputyChow I was assaulted, with many witnesses, by a stranger 17 days ago and the assailant is still not arrested despite letting officers know his whereabouts on more than one occasion. The lip service provided by you, all @VancouverPD, and @CityofVancouver doesn’t solve anything.

@VancouverPD No need for a DM. You can find the case file using this name. I finally had a call from a police officer, after I tweeted, who informed me the charges aren’t even filed with the Crown yet. So you’ve left me completely unprotected for five days now. We’re past platitudes.

On Sunday I was physically assaulted by a stranger near my home. Entire assault on video and assailant lives in my building. I am bruised and TERRIFIED. @VancouverPD will not actively try to arrest him. Their advice to me? Stay in my unit. An untenable solution at best. #VPD

@notionport @VancouverPD I was punched in broad daylight with 12+ witnesses watching. I can only imagine what he’d do in the parking garage (where there’s no cell coverage) or garbage room with no witnesses.

@notionport @VancouverPD They have not. The officer “assigned” to the case is on vacation, and I cannot get another officer to call me back. One 911 operator told me to call the non-emergency line and another offered the same “stay in your unit” advice. I’ve never been so helpless.
