🚨It’s reported that UK PM Rishi Sunak plans to row back on several climate targets. https://t.co/eLpYzjkDdC
This will not only be devastating for the environment and people living in poverty, but also for the UK economy.

Voters want green policies- Polling of 3,000 adults by

found that, for voters who voted Conservative in 2019 and planned to vote Labour next year, 57% felt the PM had “not gone far enough” on tackling climate change #climatechange https://t.co/xYKI3ZOqgK
Dear @RishiSunak@Keir_Starmer, whatever other political games you play, please don't be irresponsible and use the #ClimateCrisis as a political football and allow it to become part of identity politics. We are reaching tipping points and we must work together to find solutions.
📢 ACTION NEEDED 📢
On Wednesday, a leaked memo revealed the UK Government could be set to break its commitment to spend £11.6bn on climate finance to vulnerable countries by 2026.

Here's how you can push them to keep their promises👇 🧵 [1/5]
Commenting on the news of a possible climb down from the UK’s £11.6bn climate finance pledge by Rishi Sunak’s government, Tearfund’s Head of Advocacy, Paul Cook, said:
Trust in delivery of promised climate finance is broken. @FCDOGovUK must give an honest reckoning “...we have effectively abandoned one of the most widely reported and solemn promises we have made on this issue, our pledge to spend £11.6bn of our Aid on climate and environment.”
Two-thirds of UK adults would want to choose their country of asylum if forced to leave the country, a survey commissioned by the IRC has revealed.
The results place public opinion at odds with the government's #RefugeeBanBill. More in @FT ⬇️

Was great to attend with John for his meeting with Minister Pow yesterday. Waste pickers voices need to be heard in the UN Plastic Treaty negotiations as well as at the local and national levels.
Yesterday, John - a waste picker from Kenya - met with minister @pow_rebecca and Tearfund staff to talk about the importance of #WastePickers being included in the UN #PlasticsTreaty. Read more about why waste pickers' work is so vital 👉 https://t.co/hKA1c2ufHF @DefraGovUK
The hunger crisis in East Africa is now of immense proportion, but the UK can help prevent further devastation.
We, alongside 10 other organisations, have written to the PM @RishiSunak to ask: Will you act to prevent famine?

Great morning in Westminster sharing with MPs about the opportunity that the UN Plastic Treaty is to end the plastic crisis and its impact on people living in poverty. #RubbishCampaign#RubbishChallenge#PlasticWaste
We’ve had lots of great conversations with MPs at our drop-in event this morning. Great to meet with many who are keen to take on the #RubbishChallenge, reduce waste in their own lives and take action on #PlasticWaste.
Thanks to @DerekThomasUK, @KerryMP and many more for coming
Bright, early and a slightly chilly start this morning to kick off the #RubbishCampaign We're calling on the UK Government to ensure that the UN plastics treaty helps end the world’s rubbish problem, especially for those living in poverty!
This morning, Tearfund staff, supporters, volunteers and ambassadors went to Parliament to launch our #RubbishCampaign in the UK and remind the Government that #PlasticPollutionKills!
