No, that's not what I'm claiming. Rather: sex means the same thing for sheep as it does for humans.
A ewe is a sheep of the female sex.
A woman is a human of the female sex.
Female sex = reproductive teleonomy oriented toward egg-cell production.
That's all. Gender identity is irrelevant to sex.
Popular narrative emerging: "No one was speaking out about sex and gender 10 years ago, but people are doing it now that it's safe and okay to do so, YAY!"
That's not accurate. There were plenty of people speaking out about this ten years ago and more.
We were ignored because we are feminists.
A lot of people like to ask "WHERE ARE THE FEMINISTS???" The answer is that we have been here the entire time. The media largely ignores us. When they pay attention to us at all, they pretend we're right-wing bigots (knowing full well that we're not).
It's a bit disingenuous to ignore everything we have said for over a decade and then sort-of casually wonder where we are.
A radical feminist named Janice Raymond published a book titled "The Transsexual Empire" in 1979, warning everyone about what was coming. She republished it in 1994 with a new Introduction about the emergence of the word "transgender."
Julie Bindel was writing about this stuff at least as early as 2004 (Google "Guardian Gender Benders Beware" if you don't believe me).
Radical feminist groups met in London in 2012 and 2013 to discuss the problem and spoke out then.
In the US, Lierre Keith founded the Women's Liberation Front (@WomensLibFront) in 2013. I joined it in 2015, and joined the board of directors in 2016. That year, WoLF sued the Obama Administration over its interpretation of Title IX. It filed countless legal briefs between 2016 and 2020, when I left the board of the organization. It's still going strong.
In 2014, a radical feminist named Sheila Jeffreys published "Gender Hurts: A Feminist Analysis of the Politics of Transgenderism."
@WDI_USA launched in 2020. I was president and a member of the board of directors from 2021 to 2024. It has filed briefs in over half the US Court of Appeals and before the Supreme Court several times.
I have written two books on the topic: The Abolition of Sex: How the 'Transgender' Agenda Harms Women and Girls (2021) and The Reckoning: How the Democrats and the Left Betrayed Women and Girls (2023).
I'll be making a record of all of this activism in an upcoming book titled TERFLandia: How the Global Terven Will Win the Gender Wars.
All of the radical feminists who have been speaking out about this would be happy to talk to the media. Very few invitations have been forthcoming.
The problem is not that no one was speaking out. It is not that we were insufficiently "bold," as has been alleged. The problem is that we were ignored.
The nonsense would have ended YEARS ago if people had listened to those of us know have been on the case for a very long time. But they didn't.
I will end this with a special shout-out and a thank you to May Mailman, who gave an interview to Mother Jones magazine earlier this year regarding her work in getting the recent executive orders out and crafting a model bill to protect women and girls as a sex class. The published article includes this:
'Sometimes known as trans-exclusionary radical feminists, or TERFs, activists like Dansky believe that womenâs rights will be lost if the category of âwomenâ includes people assigned male at birth. Theyâve pushed for decades to exclude trans women from womenâs spaces. (Some who adhere to these viewsâincluding, famously, Harry Potter author JK Rowlingâconsider the TERF acronym a slur and describe themselves as âgender criticalâ; others embrace it.) Mailman tells me that TERF activists, particularly Dansky, were the intellectual force behind the effort to enshrine sex definitions. âThe ones that were really driving the charge and had just a lot more knowledge and background, and had been thinking about these issues, writing about these issues, for such a long time, tended to be people on the left,â she says. (Dansky, in an email, says she did not contribute directly to the model billâs language or strategy, though she does call Mailman an âextremely intelligent lawyer.â Like Mailman, she doesnât believe that enshrining sex definitions could turn back the clock on womenâs equality under the Constitution. âRadical feminists are gender abolitionists who fully support women who do not conform to sex stereotypes,â she writes.)'

Identifying as "non-binary" presumes others are binary, which is to say, it presumes most humans conform to sexist stereotypes.
But we're all non-binary, because male & female are biological categories, not personality types.
Kindly stop equating an opposition to sexism with an opposition to gay rights.
It's ridiculous.
Why is it ok for other categories to be verified but not female sports?
âImagine any of these categories without verification:
- Weight classes but no weigh-in for athletes
- Para athletics but athletes do not submit any medical documentation
- Age categories but no verification through ID, based on self-reported age only
- A ban on PEDs but no drug testing conductedâ
"This is not finished until the material reality of sex is restored in every way. And, this is not finished until women as a sex class are free." đđđ
I am very happy that we are winning on sports. It's great. Men and boys have no business being anywhere near women's sports or locker rooms.
I'm glad the US Supreme Court saw sense and ruled that states may maintain single-sex sports. Great!
In America, we never would have gotten here if it were not for groups like @icons_women, the business @xx_xyathletics, athletes like @sophaller, or the world class @Martina.
Globally, there are so many more women who have gotten us to where we are on sports. @FondOfBeetles, @coachblade, and @sharrond62 come to mind immediately.
And the radical feminist groups that have been fighting this for years. @WDI_USA has been on the scene since 2020. @WomensLibFront was founded in 2013 and sued Obama over Title IX in 2016.
There are so many more!
Point of order, though: We CANNOT win on sports and then rest on everything else. We will not be finished when sports are won. This is going to be a long slog.
The vast majority of media outlets are still lying to everyone about the material reality of sex. There are still "gender clinics" harming people. Schools are still teaching kids that they may have been "born in the wrong body." Not a single federally elected Democrat has stood up and said, simply, "A woman is an adult human female."
This is not finished until the material reality of sex is restored in every way. And, this is not finished until women as a sex class are free.
This is excellent, @sophaller. Well done, and thank you!
Also, you don't have to say "biological men." Men are men are men. Including the ones who call themselves "trans."

Because not all females give birth but only females can. It is an exclusively female activity. This doesnât mean women must give birth. But men never, ever can.
@LisaSelinDavis Thank you for posting this!
Our family will be in your position soon, and it is so daunting trying to figure out which places might be relatively sane.
Amnesty is no longer the organisation that defended all who were persecuted for their freedom of speech. It has become a self-appointed, vainglorious policeman of wrongthink. It tweets out ideological slogans. It demonises those who disagree with those slogans. It intervened in FWS v Scottish Ministers, on the side of those determined to keep men in womenâs prisons and rape crisis centres.
Some of us havenât forgotten that Amnesty stopped supporting the since-murdered prisoner of conscience Alexei Navalny because they deemed heâd said unacceptable things in the past. They reversed that decision due to public backlash, exactly as they withdrew the recent defamatory report, before I or anyone else had responded to it, because they panicked on seeing the reaction. A cynic might think they changed their minds on both occasions, not on principle, but because they were afraid of losing money.
You cannot be simultaneously an impartial defender of freedom and speech and a wealthy international witch hunter that publicly vilifies and intimidates small campaigning groups with whom you disagree. As for âsilencingâ Amnesty, I have neither the power nor the desire to do so. I want them to explain as loudly and extensively as possible why they are using their might and formerly lustrous reputation to attack small non-violent campaigning organisations with legally protected beliefs.
@daveweigel When feminists including a rape survivor met with Fetterman aide Jason Smith, he compared their concerns about males in women's prisons to a belief in UFOs, and told them they should leave the Democratic Party.

Todayâs @nytimes essay, @VinesMatthewâs June 2026 âIâm Gay, Not Queer.â and @sullydishâs June 2025 essay all point to a growing realization in the liberal cohort that something is wrong.
Now itâs time for the New York Times to publish the perspective that has been missing in liberal spaces throughout this debate. I call on @nytimes to publish a guest essay by a liberal woman who opposes men in womenâs spaces. Preferably a Democrat. Maybe even feature a lesbian!! But, at minimum, an actual woman writing about womenâs rights. I have a few in mind: @KDansky@JamieWhistle@Martina@ErinFriday75490@KnownHeretic
@WomenAreReals Oh the poor little guy!
Why, why, why are we reorganizing society to accommodate "gender identity?" Practically everyone knows this is wrong!
When men claim they are âtransâ and use it to bypass women's consent, they have not discovered an identity or a diagnosis; they have discovered an excuse.
"If the law cannot acknowledge that women and girls exist as a discrete sex class, it cannot acknowledge that women and girls are fully human."
Women and girls are female. That matters in sports, and throughout our lives.
Thanks so much to @thehill for publishing my piece about last week's (incomplete) win in the US Supreme Court.
P.S. The person in the image is a teenage boy named AB Hernandez, who has been competing in girls' sports for several years.
