How I remember the common trinucleotide repeate sequences, even though making students differentiate them would be silly:

Fragile X: CGG (Check Giant Gonads)
Huntington: CAG (Chorea And Gait)
Myotinic dystrophy 1: CTG (Concern for The Grandkids - anticipation)

Rare diseases affect millions of families worldwide. For my research project parents shared their experience of genomic testing and the diagnostic journey. There is still a long way to go in improving care for these families. #RareDiseaseDay2021 #GCChat
