The Sony news is certainly annoying and disheartening, however an expected eventuality. They deleted people's movies years ago, and that was the warning shot. 'Digital' copies you 'own' is a bit of a myth... but on the opposite side; no more physical releases for games?

At this point, everyone might as well at least consider getting a PC for the future. Yes it can be a very expensive investment, no denying, but it also opens up more options for you (as well as gives you a work machine too).

If PlayStation is moving to an all digital future, 3 things must happen before 2028:

1. Explain how physical libraries carry forward.

2. Add game gifting.

3. Overhaul digital refunds.

A digital future requires digital first consumer trust.
