South Africa will be paying out R284.7 billion in Social Grants in 2025/2026.

I completely understand that there is a need to assist the poorest of the poor, but why do we still need a Covid Grant that costs this country R35 Billion annually, why do we make it financially attractive to fall pregnant and then receive a child grant?

We have to face the reality that 7.1 million taxpayers can't continue to pay for 28 million grant recipients.

The GNU is failing us and we need to address this glaring problem or accept that we will reach a point where we can't service our debt and then inflation skyrockets.
