Add up federal elections, federal primaries, local elections, and special elections, and you get there pretty quickly. If you moved to LA in 2001 you had at least 50 chances to vote in elections.

Not sure if this was actually anything to do with their politics or just arbitrary color assignment, though

@JTighe1873 @melancholicgeri @walkeri141 It's to do with the fact that our parties have only very recently been strictly ideological rather than regional coalitions. Neither the Dems nor the GOP have historically been left wing (or right wing tbh) parties. Both parties had liberal and conservative currents within them.
