Ethiopia has never achieved true sovereignty, as its modern rulers have consistently served as proxies for foreign powers. This pattern began when the West restored Haile Selassie to the throne. It continued with the Soviet-backed Derg, and then the TPLF, which was a long-time partner of the US and the West—acting as their "boots on the ground" after the Black Hawk Down incident and throughout the War on Terror. Today, Abiy Ahmed fulfills a similar role for the UAE and its allies.

Ultimately, the country is trapped by debt from the IMF and World Bank, making it a perpetually indebted state that operates as a de facto colony, never having experienced genuine freedom.

The pattern/playbook is boringly the same. Some obscure entities with organic links to major intel agencies fabricate a defamatory story or narrative to sully the image of their victim country or prey; in this case #Eritrea.

Within minutes, NED/USAID/EU funded media outlets (The Guardian et al and associated regional networks, Addis Standard etc.) recycle and amplify the story for maximum coverage.

This is the modus operandi of the subtly crafted Eco-chamber: the closed loop of defamation and disinformation.

This is the context and ecosystem of the resurgence these days, for whatever underlying reason, of the wholesale assaults against the EDF.

Let's underline the civilized Rules of Engagement of the EPLA during the liberation war and on whose legacy and operational doctrine the EDF was established.

#Eritrea participated in the High-Level Meeting of the Least Developed Countries, held on the margins of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (#FFD4). The event was organized by @UNHORLLS and #Nepal.

The meeting brought together #LDC and #LLDCs to reflect on the #FFD4 outcome document and its implications for the sustainable development of the Least Developed Countries
(#LDCs).

Member states discussed how effective implementation of the #FFD4 outcome can support LDCs in mobilizing the financing, technical assistance and capacity-building support required to fully implement the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA).

The Seville document seeks support for #LDCs and #LLDCs and addresses the financing needs of developing countries, with a particular focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

It outlines plans to address the financing gap for sustainable development, improve access to financing for LDCs, and tackle issues related to debt sustainability.

The document also calls for integrating #LDCs into the global trading system
