On 30th September 2026, until 11:59 PM, they will keep harassing taxpayers by insisting that the due date will not be extended.
Technically, the allowed 90-day return filing period should start from 27th July, when the return was actually made available for submission. The current 3-day maintenance period should also be deducted, making the automatic due date 28th October 2026.
The impact of the non-availability of the CGT certificate from NCCPL should also be taken into account when determining the fair filing period.
Observing the same issue in the tax return filings of numerous individuals, which I have been highlighting on this platform for the last two years. Unfortunately, the situation remains unchanged.
While compiling data for tax return filing, I have once again come across the same problem: tax is not being deducted by bank where applicable, and the correct remittance code is not being mentioned by banks. Instead, almost all inward remittances are being classified as Home Remittances. This creates unnecessary confusion and often leads to the incorrect reporting of foreign remittances and foreign-source income interchangeably.
This issue needs to be addressed to ensure accurate reporting and to avoid unnecessary compliance difficulties for taxpayers.

@AmerSharifOFCL Thank you sir, but the column Tax Month, in which a number is written, for example: 12
Now does that mean that Income Tax is cut from December or June (December is the actual 12th Month, while June is 12th Month of FY of Pakistan System?
@AmerSharifOFCL Sir, In MIS on the user's portal, the list has info of tax deducted, there's a column Tax Month.
Does it mean Pakistan's FY sequence (July being Tax Month 1) or regular Month (January being Tax Month 1)?

We are only one month away from the budget. I would request everyone to highlight the issue of unfair taxation on the salaried class and demand real, tangible relief from the government on every possible forum during this one-and-a-half-month period until the budget is approved. Regardless of the expected outcome, your voice matters. This is the minimum you can do for yourself and this orphan neglected salaried class.
