Pokémon TCG note: If you ever see me playing a Charizard ex deck, shoot on sight. It's Mystique or some shit.
I hope I outlive its rotation. How can it even be fun to play? It's so formulaic and boring.
Being an adult who grew up in Los Angeles is an endless series of weird situations where you find out people whose cars you used to jumpstart, your exes and some classmate who hated you for no reason are now really famous
@BarelyConcealed P.S. If you've never seen my favorite film of all time, 'The Mouse and His Child', highly recommend. It's as old as I am and based on a weird childrens' book, but it's SO good.
Ordinary life scares me, people are already crazy and gore is gross, so I'm not really into horror movies.
Can anyone recommend some autumnal, Halloween-y cozy films suitable for pre-traumatized grownups?
@TheMystrD I have seen Army of Darkness and Evil Dead 2 and I don't get the hype.
I will check out Hocus Pocus, which I'm unfamiliar with. I have the other two (good suggestions!)
Things that have gone wrong:
- lack of an alarm turned a cat nap into REM
- had to order takeout in person, which felt bizarre
- birthday plans cancelled (can't use my gift or play games)
- family can't reach me (phones are on the blink)
Generally, I think of myself as less Internet-dependent than most people; I had a largely offline childhood and adolescence (I'm 47 today) and have old-fashioned hobbies.
But oh. my. god. Two days without Internet and been misery! 😅 No end in sight.
18 : 30 Saturday night. Hiding in the Can-Am Pizza off the highway in my pajamas with a bunch of other people in their pajamas. No phone or Internet in the area since around midnight.
Laid off. Right before my birthday.
It doesn't mean the same thing as it does to someone with an office job, but it still hurts. They were my favorite company. 💔
