Today is the launch of the Liquid Staking Module on the Cosmos Hub. It is a gamechanger for liquid staking in Cosmos and also impacts the inflation rate of ATOM as well as the future of Cosmos DeFi.

The implementation of the liquid staking module means no more need to wait 21 days to unbond and no more choosing between Staking or DeFi. You can instantly liquify your already staked ATOM and use them in Cosmos DeFi, without sacrificing Staking APR.

Right now, the bonded ratio for ATOM is 67.8%.

As long as it's above 66.67%, the inflation rate is slowly going down to a floor of 7% - currently its at 14.26%. The higher the bonded ratio goes, the faster the inflation rate goes down.

The LSM going live means unlocking over $400 million worth of ATOM which accelerates Cosmos DeFi and strengthens the position of liquid staked ATOM from various providers such as Stride, pStake or Quicksilver.

The next step is for dApps and money markets to provide use cases for liquid staked ATOM which is already in the works 🛠️

It doesn’t matter how much it bleeds if you allocate bigger on the way down. $atom is good for for the 20% inflationary yield which can be used at will to get any dip out there indefinitely.
