I promised I would share more from our incredible visit to Advent BioServices in Sawston, England—and I want to start doing that.

Braelyn and I were given an opportunity very few patients ever get: to step inside the facility where her personalized DCVax-L vaccine was manufactured and meet some of the people who helped make it possible.

I went there thinking I understood DCVax pretty well.

I left realizing how much I didn’t know.

The science. The precision. The extraordinary number of steps involved. The quality controls. And, most of all, the people.

What struck me again and again was that this wasn’t simply a product coming off an assembly line.

This was Braelyn’s vaccine.

Her tumor tissue.
Her immune cells.
A treatment manufactured specifically for her.

Standing outside this building with my daughter, knowing what had been created for her inside, was incredibly emotional.

So I want to show you what we saw.

Not because of what is trending today.

But because the scientists and team behind those doors—and the work being done there—deserve to be seen.

This is Sawston.

This is where Braelyn’s DCVax was made. 🧬❤️

Okay…this is getting a little surreal. 😳❤️

This morning, @DrOzCMS said on Fox News that President Trump had told him about a kid with glioblastoma who had been “cured.”

Was he talking about Braelyn? I I really think he was and meant to say “her.”

But I can tell you that Braelyn’s story is reaching people and places I never dreamed it would.

Just days ago, I shared the incredible news from Dr. Linda Liau and the UCLA tumor board: after reviewing Braelyn’s latest MRI, they found NO VISIBLE TUMOR—not even the residual tumor that had been left behind during surgery.

That post has now been viewed more than 127,000 times.

And now we’re hearing Braelyn’s story may have made it all the way to the President of the United States.

I started sharing our story because I wanted other families to know there may be options they aren’t being told about—and because I want desperately ill patients to have better access to investigational treatments.

I never imagined how far one 19-year-old girl’s story might travel.

Brad Silver received DCVax-L in one of the earliest trials after being diagnosed with GBM in his early 30s. He’s now a 23-year survivor.

Jamil Newirth was diagnosed at 32 and given approximately 17 months to live. He received UCLA’s personalized dendritic-cell vaccine and was profiled by UCLA more than a decade later, alive and thriving.

Sarah Rigby was diagnosed with GBM in 2011 and has been documented more than 12 years later as a long-term DCVax patient.

Nigel French was diagnosed with GBM in 2015, entered the DCVax-L trial at King’s College Hospital and was subsequently documented in long-term remission.

Kat Charles was diagnosed with grade 4 GBM in 2013 and at one point was told she had only three months to live. She later obtained a personalized dendritic-cell vaccine and continued receiving maintenance booster injections. More than a decade later, hers remains an extraordinary long-term-survivor story.

And I found other early UCLA dendritic-cell-vaccine survivors, including Jennifer Sugioka, Elijah Luyten and Gallia Kistler.

These two pictures were taken 3 weeks and 3 days apart.

The image on the left was taken the day before Braelyn received DCVax #3.

It’s a microscopic image of Braelyn’s own dendritic cells loaded with her tumor lysate.

In other words… this is the process by which her immune system is being taught to recognize her cancer.

To most people, it probably looks like a boring image on a computer screen.

To us, it’s hope.

It represents months of surgeries, shipping tumor tissue across continents, leukapheresis, manufacturing, quality control, and the dedication of an extraordinary team of scientists—all culminating in these tiny immune cells being prepared to help Braelyn’s immune system recognize the unique targets in her tumor.

I said when I first saw this image that this masterpiece deserved to be matted, framed and given a place of honor on our wall at home.

Because to our family, this isn’t just science.

It’s art. It’s hope. It’s Braelyn’s own immune system being given information about the enemy it needs to find.

And then there’s the other picture.

Three weeks and two days after Braelyn received DCVax #3, that MRI was taken.

The radiologist’s conclusion:

“No evidence of disease recurrence.”

Her UCLA neurosurgical team and tumor board subsequently reviewed the images themselves and told us they could see no tumor tissue—including the residual tumor that had been left behind at surgery.

The first picture is hope under a microscope.
The second one is the image we prayed for.

We know this journey isn’t over. Braelyn will continue her DCVax treatments, and we’ll continue taking things one scan, one treatment and one day at a time.

But these two pictures?

I think I may need to frame them together. ❤️

American medical innovation is second to none, but our current access pathways are leaving families stranded. We’ve spent over 5 weeks in London since June so my daughter could access DCVax for her brain cancer—a therapy developed in the United States.

The issue isn't a lack of willingness from doctors or biotech companies; it's that current IND regulations penalize manufacturers who open their doors to critically ill patients outside of trials. When compassionate use poses a regulatory threat to a drug’s main approval path, companies have no choice but to protect their pipeline.
