The math is simple: 6.8% is significantly less than 17.3%. The Ford government is critically underfunding education across this province and our kids are paying the price.

Recently, NCDSB Trustee Natalia Benoit compared the Pride flag to the nazi flag.
Frankly, I am disgusted by these comments. I hope and expect that Trustee Benoit will apologize and put in work to understand why her comments were wrong.
NCDSB students and staff deserve better.
Police get double digit wage hikes, paid OT, and lowered educational requirements. Meanwhile nurses and education workers get capped, the NWC, and get added training put in.
Make it make sense.
Excellent article.
"If the government wishes to improve education, it can spend more on teachers and reduce class sizes. That’s a fine way to make space for learning that will pay all sorts of dividends to a free and democratic society." #onpoli https://t.co/LtSmmpCtRy
Short thread about the announcement made by @Sflecce this morning.
Once upon a time, long ago, the Ministry of Education decided that they would invest in math coaches and later in literacy coaches. There was extra programming provided for schools that didn’t score as well on /2

"...data from BC and from other countries suggests private, for-profit surgery clinics will likely increase the true cost to taxpayers and could worsen wait times in Ontario hospitals."
The solution is right there: fund the public system we already have.

Thank you @jennkfrench for explaining this so clearly! This should be a commercial so that every Ontarian can understand the misrepresentation of the @fordnation government members!
It's 4 pm on a Wednesday.
The majority of ORs in the province are now closed for next 16 hours.
Instead of creating, funding and diverting staff to a parallel private system, @ongov should invest in the underutilized public system we already have.
Heard a new term yesterday- in response to work-life balance in teaching - it was stated that it was impossible in teaching and that the term to be used is work-life integration. This cause me pause that a whole other term was given so that the unsustainability could be ignored.
If someone in a relationship said they felt unsafe, belittled, financially-abused, or emotionally traumatized you would tell them to leave immediately.
But when it’s a teacher talking about their job, you question their character and beg them to stay.
Public hospitals across Ontario have operating rooms running under capacity, closing by 3pm, or closing for days-to-weeks at a time. Why is Doug Ford’s solution to this funding for-profit private services to clear the backlog? Why not fund and expand the public ones? #onpoli
