Why is it so hard for this country to understand that early childcare is infrastructure? Why have the likes of Sweden, Denmark and Estonia got this so right yet we are failing so badly and the governments first instinct is to increase ratios and ignore all professional advice? 😤

What parent would want to put their toddler in a relaxed ratio of staff to children in nurseries. Staff are incredibly stretched already. Relaxing ratios will see more women failing to return to work, reduced economic growth, reduce women’s pension pots and career opportunities🤬

Not to mention the extreme health and safety risks and quality of care to children!
