Books are for everyone, but not every book is for everyone. Talk with your children about which books are appropriate for them. Be a parent. Stop vilifying teachers and librarians. And for the love, #stopbanningbooks#elateacher
Teachers & librarians are facing a slew of book challenges lately, so I'm sharing a resource that I created during my years teaching middle school:
Books for All Kids (Not Just Yours) - An Open Letter for Educators & Librarians to Share with Families.

Florida bill would ban young girls from discussing periods in school https://t.co/YdNXRwGEhZ
Here's Ron DeSantis Universe, with GOP lawmakers nosing into your children's most private matters. Welcome to "free" Florida, right? What a farce.
Absurdity - if libraries were really trying to "indoctrinate" students, would they really buy a few books and make them voluntary reading and then put them within a collection of 15,000 other books? Most inefficient method ever.
If you live in a state where books are being banned, the Brooklyn Public Library offers a free eCard nationwide to those aged 13 to 21 to access their entire digital catalog for one year in an effort to combat this terrible act. Link here:

Bro, if we actually had access to all this “dark money” you talk about, we could afford an office or a secret PO Box. 🤣 We’re literally just a group of parents fighting against the far right wing takeover of our school board. And we want to support educators & students.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 And we as parents won’t stop shining a light on the atrocities our school board commits months after month. We want @KellerISD to be next on the list of districts to be investigated by the OCR.

Here’s the clip where our school board trustee Joni Shaw explains that the school board really wants to trust district librarians but they can’t, because they keep finding books the librarians are trying to order that are a part of the lgbtq+ community. https://t.co/fyrkq8rQf3
“You can draw a straight line from the false and vile rhetoric about LGBTQ people spread by extremists and amplified across social media, to the nearly 300 anti-LGBTQ bills introduced this year, to the dozens of attacks on our community like this one.” https://t.co/QufDidDgrm
Adults lack critical thinking skills ... SOR and SL are a story being sold to people screaming about being sold a story ... it is rather embarrassing the lack of self-awareness in jumping out a frying pan into a fire
