Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.
Have highlighted this multiple times
ReKYC rules are flawed,
Citizens are harassed by asking them to do KYC from time to time.
Of course,
RBI is trying to check fraud.
But ReKYC should only be asked if there is a change in the demographic parameter,
Not letting someone who is bedridden use life savings just for the purpose of KYC is brutal and painful.
The bank should help the customer in a humane manner,
RBI has asked all banks to provide home service to all senior citizens.
None of the banks provide special services to senior citizens,
Bank officials can just visit the senior citizen to get all verification done,
The money doesn't belong to the bank,
It belongs to the senior citizen,
This is just cruel and inhumane to ask someone who is on a ventilator to do ReKYC

The Middle East has changed forever. Turns out it’s not about how big your population is or how large your country looks on a map. It’s about strength. And the UAE just demonstrated that with tremendous defensive capabilities protecting millions of people from over 200 nations who call this country home. Real power isn’t loud slogans or endless ideology. Real power is keeping the skies safe while life on the ground stays calm.
The UAE leads the Middle East toward peace and hope, while others are still busy exporting Muslim Brotherhood politics, Wahhabi jihadism, and antisemitism. 🇦🇪
Stanley Druckenmiller, who has relied heavily on technical analysis during his career, recently said:
“I can unequivocally tell you that technical analysis is about 20% as effective today as it was 30 years ago, because no one was using it. But when everybody’s using it, it doesn’t work anymore because you don’t have a unique thing to act against.”
If even Druckenmiller says this, it reinforces a simple idea:
What really matters is buying great companies and avoiding overpaying for them.
As Peter Lynch used to say, in the long run the price of a stock will follow the company’s economic results — regardless of the “drawings” on a chart.
“If charts could really predict the future, technical analysts would all be billionaires.”
Technical analysis is more of a distraction than anything else.
The real edge isn’t drawing lines.
It’s understanding businesses.

"The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that they do not work. Therefore, we should not be surprised to find the left concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to survive."

I was watching this video by @RainmatterOrg about how Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) cleaned up the Kham river in 5 years. It had become a sewage drain, and they turned it back into a flowing river. Made me think about especially of Delhi's air quality problem.
They mapped 249 waste entry points with drones and installed traps. Rerouted sewage to treatment plants and built new ones. Set up a facility for textile waste from factories. Cleaned the river and discovered springs that were buried under debris. Fixed waste collection across the city, removed 170 dump sites. The municipal commissioner joined weekend cleanups himself. Citizens showed up every Saturday. The key was stopping waste from entering the river in the first place, not just cleaning it.
If a smaller city can pull this off in 5 years with the municipal corporation, NGOs, and citizens working together, I was wondering if governments, businesses, NGOs, and citizens actually collaborate, can't they make a difference in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and many other cities where the Air quality is really bad.
