Sadly a large number of Toyota buyers buy them blindly.
Also the Toyota PDI where I live is funny. You can't see the insides of the car until it's ready for delivery.
@shreemallatheru@TorqueIndia The Hybrid system that Honda uses is quite a bit better than the system Toyota has currently brought in.
Pricing will be key for the Hybrid if they bring it as long as it isn't as absurd as the City Hybrid.
@shreemallatheru@TorqueIndia If they fix the feature set, i.e. Ventilated Seats and 360° camera, without a significant increase in price, should help them a lot.
Those 2 features are essential in that segment, considering the Elevate has everything else.
A Hybrid variant would also be good but demand is meh
@theyawninchihua Can I add 2 of my cents to this.
Maruti actually offers ESC and Hill Hold Control from the Swift base model onwards.
The Celerio AMT variants also get both features.
@TorqueIndia With all due respect to Tata and the Safari, a 1.5L Turbo engine in a big bus like this while good on paper with the power figures, may not be the best option.
The engine will have to work hard to lug a beast this big and heavy.
Personally I would take the 7XO mStallion 2.0 TGDI.
@vmanjunath@TorqueIndia The smooth and slightly lazy nature of the transmission makes for excellent commuter cars, except when you really want to get a move on. However enthusiasts find it too boring and un- involving to drive, plus the engine noise isn't much fun either, settling into a constant drone.
@vmanjunath@TorqueIndia Simple illustration of the basic system. The real systems used will be a bit more complex.
Some manufacturers try to mitigate the rubber band effect with pre configured steps in the CVT (Honda CVT cars like the Amaze, City, Elevate for example)
