Left a great force to join another today. Heavy heart as I leave friends and colleagues @MerseyPolice who have been such a big part of my family’s life. Thank you so much. A photo of my father (top left) in 1966 with the all conquering Merseyside Police team.
To colleagues reflecting on challenging times, just think of the little 8yr old girl in Carlisle city centre who spent her Saturday walking along police lines @Cumbriapolice
giving out her chocolates and thanking police officers for keeping her safe. Keep the faith.
13 arrests, 30 dispersals, over 70 stop and searches, high speed pursuits, over £100k recovered and a raft of additional arrests and charges (including a burglary series) as part of business as usual @Cumbriapolice
Thanks to police officers and police staff 👏👏👏
One male sentenced to 3 months imprisonment for racially aggravated online violence posted 72hrs ago.
2 other males now charged with separate online posts inciting racial hatred & violence towards police officers.
We are not anti-protest @Cumbriapolice but we are anti-crime.
A policing operation to protect people in Carlisle from potential planned disorder has resulted in six arrests.
The proactive actions and the support of our communities resulted in no significant disorder taking place.

I’ve just left @10DowningStreet after a meeting with the prime minister, Home Secretary & policing colleagues.
I’m grateful to @Keir_Starmer for his support for my colleagues on the front line.
I spoke to the media afterwards - my full statement - https://t.co/wl6Rj4WgVY
Responding to the publication of the HMICFRS’ Peel inspection report, Chief Constable, Rob Carden said:
“We welcome HMICFRS’ PEEL inspection report, published today, which shares the findings of an independent, robust scrutiny process by a team of inspectors over the past year.
A clear endorsement of colleagues @Cumbriapolice@cumbriapfcc and efforts to serve the public in the best way possible. Thank you and well done 👏👏👏
Tough but very fair inspection @HMICFRS that gives us clarity on where we need to improve.
Today we published our latest inspection of @Cumbriapolice, which shows their effectiveness at keeping people safe and reducing crime.
However, more could be done to achieve better outcomes for victims.

@SInspector48121@cheshirepolice@CheshirePCC Still batting on for now. Great to hear from you, and hope your experiences on Tri-Force have contributed to your leadership armoury !
Huge congratulations to PC Dave Elliott @cheshirepolice@CheshirePCC winner of this year’s Response Police Officer of the Year Award #ResponsePolicing. An outstanding officer who has served the public in Cheshire for over 18 years (1200 arrests since 2010 and much more) 👏
@WeCops Thanks very much for your help and support again. No gimmicks, no tap dancing, we genuinely use the feedback. Thank you to everyone who took part.
@Dangermous77971@WeCops If you get in contact with Cumbria Constabulary I will be happy to meet you in person and explain the progress that has been made from WeCops feedback. If in doubt, just contact Constable David Elliot from Cheshire Constabulary, winner of the Response officer of the year #WeCops
@DCT_audio @WeCops Another question involving the need for strong leadership. RCRP is one example of where we can impact on demand. During covid there was a national BC focus on response, this role is as important as it ever was. A national measure for attendance is beneficial for response #WeCops
@PeteA86@WeCops Pete, great points. This evidences the importance of the correct use of technology within Response Policing, empowering officers to provide an effective service. #WeCops
@ScouseAlex @WeCops Thanks, Alex. Right Care Right Person is fundamental to your points. In addition, the robust assessment of threat harm and risk is required when incidents are reported to ensure the correct response allocation. #WeCops
