Vehicle stopped showing expired MOT. Driver smelt of intoxicants, but passed the breath test providing a sample of 19 at the roadside. However, the driver also tested positive for drugs and was #arrested

@lpl2ibz Hello Nathan. Thank you for your question. The short answer is no. We don't think the public would be very reassured if someone driving at speed, tailgating others and weaving in and out of traffic was allowed to carry passengers immediately after being stopped by police. NL

This private hire vehicle was seen driving erratically on the #M62, tailgating, weaving, and at excess speed, all with a marked #Police vehicle behind it. Vehicle stopped and the unhappy driver was reported, and had their taxi licence suspended. #HappyCustomer #PHV

After crashing this Ford Focus, the driver claimed their brakes had failed.

What actually failed was their judgement. Officers established the driver was more than double the legal drink-drive limit.

This #Mercedes made off on sighting #RPU in #Knowsley. The driver lost control and collided with two road signs. The driver was detained by officers and tested positive for alcohol. Driver #arrested. The lease company wont be impressed with the state of their vehicle!

Vehicle stopped due to no MOT or Tax. Driver told the officer they were on the way to an MOT appointment at 7pm, which strangely couldn't be verified. Driver also tested positive for cannabis and cocaine and was found in possession of both drugs too! #arrested

This BMW failed to stop for #RPU this evening, driving very dangerously. It was found a short time later parked up. We have #seized it for safekeeping. #OpTango said they will look forward to checking your documents to get the car back 😃

This impatient driver went through a red light in front of an unmarked #RPU vehicle. Vehicle stopped and it was found the window tints did not conform on the front windows, and then the driver tested positive for cannabis! #arrested

This van was stopped due to a defective brake light. When the officer approached the vehicle there was a strong smell of cannabis. Search conducted and cannabis located, driver tested positive for drugs at the roadside and was #arrested

Following a stop check of this Motability vehicle on the M6, officers detected a strong smell of cannabis from inside. A search uncovered Class A & B drugs, along with this lock knife. All three occupants arrested for multiple offences and vehicle #seized. 🚔 #RoadsPolicing

@SarahJH7777 Footage is always good to provide as it is stronger evidence, as it can be difficult to prove one word against the other when it gets to court. Doesn't mean you cant report it without it though!

Following a report of a road rage incident & the occupants of a vehicle smoking cannabis, #RPU locate it in #StHelens. Driver tests positive for cannabis and is #arrested for the second time in 10 days! Vehicle #seized and returned to Motability who terminated the contract

This motorcycle was being ridden around the #Huyton area and then tried to evade officers in a wooded area. Officers entered on foot and detained the rider. Motorcycle #seized for having no insurance.
