@MCCCANM@boomers_ass Had to change a gear sequence valve while deployed with an E-6B crew. Wound up having to get the officers to assist with hand jacking the aircraft, then had to put the pilots on the flight deck to operate the gear for the checkout…
Airspeed checks… Positive rate? Oh well…
@boomers_ass@MCCCANM After the fifth, I would probably go for perfection and get the sixth. LOL
Guess there is a reason they didn’t say anything to us, then.
@MCCCANM@boomers_ass Had the boom drag across the top of our E-6B aft of the receptacle, leaving a nice crease and taking off an antenna…
Boom Op didn’t say anything… Was found when inspecting the receptacle on post flight.
@MCCCANM Had to do some FCF's on some P-8's in India at an airfield that didn't have any fencing... As we backtaxied, you could see all the goats and their shepherd hanging out at the edge of the runway watching the events.
Luckily, never had any of them try to cross in front of us.
@MCCCANM Cycle the gear immediately after takeoff on each production first flight... But that is just to make sure the system is working prior to embarking on the rest of the test flight.
@MCCCANM@Publius87 And when you get in too late to hit the BX and the bar finally closes... There is always a guy wiling to run and grab your crew a few expired cases for a low, low price.
@Adschufneker@MCCCANM@OnDisasters It isn’t about the squat switch trigger… It is the mechanical cable that connects to the spoiler mixer and allows ground spoilers to deploy.
@Aeronaut4@MCCCANM Physical feedback cable from that strut up to the spoiler mixer on the NG.
MAX switches to an electronic squat input to the fly by wire spoilers.
@MCCCANM Had this happen to a family member. They texted me on the side for help, feeling trapped on the phone with the fear of it being real.
Told them to say “send an officer to arrest me” and hang up. Took them a while to get up the courage to do it, but finally did.
