Video showing a Nigerian woman who is a truck driver living in Germany telling First Lady Remi Tinubu the true meaning of government empowerment. I think everyone needs to see this ๐๐
Its Wednesday already. A day that is blessed, a day that will be fruitful, a day things will fall in pleasant places for you. Have a wonderful day. Amen
THE BEST AND MOST DETAILED DOCUMENTARY ON TINUBU'S FAILURE... This girl really took her time to compile Tinubu's propagandas and shortcomings. Retweet massively till it gets to the Jagabandits abeg.
In 2012, Nigeria's Central Bank proposed the introduction of the 5000 Naira note.
Listen to what Peter Obi, Aliko Dangote and Atedo Peterside thought about the proposal then:
You misinformation agent
Lie 1: when did Obi resign from Fidelity bank? Correct answer: March 16, 2006
Lie 2: Was obi forced to resign? Correct answer: He resigned on March 16 so he can resume as the governor of Anambra state in March 17, so not forced
Evidences attached below
What exactly is Nigeriaโs problem that Peter Obi canโt solve?
You guys realize you donโt need to be a genius to fix our problems?
Firstly, fire the defence chiefs. All of them. Promote new ones.
Unleash hell on the bandits. All of them. Use the might of the. Nigerian army.
This automatically frees up food movement from the Middlebelt and North to the rest of the nation.
Food prices start crashing. Then you move to economy.
Cushion the energy cost by restoring, partially, the subsidy.
That breaths life into the economy for the time being.
Then prioritize production by increasing energy output.
Moving from 5kwh to 11kwh like Peter promised will increase our productivity.
Start audacious agricultural programs in the vast expanse of the north and increase our export.
Commission, for real this time, actual refineries so that our oil production can reduce energy cost.
Diversify ports. Open ports in other places in the nation.
All these will are just off the top of my own head.
Then enforce zero based budgeting. Increase fiscal transparency and prudence.
Finally, consequences. Punish corruption with worst of consequences.
You will see foreign businesses come in when thereโs trust.
You guys make fixing Nigeria look like an impossible mystery.
This same economy was growing at 6.2% yearly under Jonathan and we considered him a failure.
Thatโs what you all think Peter canโt fix?
It's quite interesting the insanely unrealistic expectations that are placed on Peter Obi's shoulders.
He's expected to be an expert in finance and economics, security, power, transportation, etc.
All of this witout acknowledging that the most important attributes required of any aspiring Nigerian president are empathy, political will, compassion, honesty, integrity, and a track record of solving problems no matter the cost.
Obasanjo was a former military officer without much expertise in these fields, but he remains one of the best presidents we've had in the 4th republic.
What was the difference? He hired experts in every field.
He reached out and poached Madam Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from the world bank and handed over Nigeria's economy to her.
He got the late Dora Akunyili and handed over NAFDAC to her.
He got Prof. Soludo and handed over the CBN to him
Oby Ezekwesili, Tim Menakaya, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, ABC Nwosu, Kema Chikwe, etc.
The most important part of all this was that he gave them complete oversight of their respective ministries and provided them with whatever support they needed to succeed.
He gave Dora Akunyili complete carte blache to clean up the food and drug sector. When her life was in obvious danger, he beefed up her security. Even when major players in the sector lobbied intensely to have her removed, he refused to cave. The result? Dora Akunyili remains the best NAFDAC DG Nigeria has ever had.
We are currently witnessing a government where appointments are handed out as political settlements. Adelabu, a supposed expert in banking and finance, was handed our power sector.
The defence minister remained there despite gross incompetence until pressure from the US led to his removal.
The current defence minister is more interested in politics. The NSA is focused on politics and optics.
Meanwile, Gilbert Chagoury, a notorious washman was given the highest national honour in the land, while being allowed unfettered access to our resources.
Atiku Bagudu, who was notorious for helping Abacha launder billions of dollars is our current budget and planning minister, likely nominated by Chagoury to protect his interests.
Dasuki, who is arguably the reason insecurity has progressed to this point, is currently being conferred with a national honour.
You see all of this and still wonder what Peter Obi would do differently, while expecting him to be an expert in every field. He's running to be president, not finance minister or power minister or defence minister.
Peter Obi as governor moved the government to Onitsha because he identified that as the hub of insecurity in the state, gave the security agencies all the logistical support they needed to clean up the state, and remained there until the insecurity was quelled.
One of the first things he did as governor was to commission poverty mapping which helped highlight the most obvious causes of poverty in the state. This povrty mapping was concluded witin the first year, while he formulated the ANIDS vehicle with which he simultaneously developed every sector of the state.
Most importantly, he hired experts in every field. Technocrats who were there strictly to get the job done, and not to play politics. That is the difference.
Alex Otti never gave any detailed plans to improve Abia state before he became governor; yet, it is becoming increasingly obvious that he's the best thing that's happened to Abia state in the 4th republic.
Peter Obi is honest, has a clean track record, has been scrutinised over and over again and found completely free of corruption, has an unblemished track record of integrity and competence.
Yet, you ask dishonest questions and make clever by half statements to muddle the waters and make it appear like he's no different. You're a very dishonest person.
Your current president BTW fielding a question on insecurity ๐๐พ How do you, I'm good conscience, try to measure this up to the things Peter Obi says? God will surely take you
For those asking how Peter Obi plans to fix electricity, here is an old video of him explaining it.
Please watch it before embarrassing yourselves any further. Shameless ๐
Accountable Borrowing: The South Africa Example.
I have consistently maintained that borrowing, in itself, is not a bad thing. Every nation borrows. The critical issue is not the act of borrowing, but what the borrowed funds are used for and whether citizens can clearly see and measure the impact of such borrowing in their daily lives.
There is a lot to learn in the open and transparent manner in which South Africa handled its recently secured a $1 billion loan from the New Development Bank, with a clearly defined purpose. Publicly announcing the targeted purpose of the loan for all to know and monitor, upgrading water supply systems, modernising sanitation infrastructure, improving electricity distribution, and strengthening waste management services across eight major metropolitan cities, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.
This is indeed what accountable borrowing should look like; the purpose is clear, the projects are identifiable, and the expected benefits to citizens are measurable. Such investments directly improve living conditions, enhance productivity, and stimulate economic growth.
In Nigeria, however, the opposite is the case: public debt has risen dramatically under the current administration, and its deployment is shrouded in secrecy from the people who will indeed pay back the loan. Today, our total public debt has increased from about โฆ87 trillion in 2023 to nearly โฆ200 trillion.
Yet, despite this unprecedented accumulation of debt, Nigerians are often left without a clear and detailed account of how these borrowings are being deployed to improve critical sectors such as education, healthcare, power, security, and infrastructure.
Borrowing must never become an end in itself. Every loan obtained in the name of the Nigerian people must be tied to specific, productive investments capable of generating economic value, creating jobs, reducing poverty, and improving the welfare of citizens.
Good governance demands transparency and accountability. The government must be able to clearly explain what was borrowed, where it was invested, and what measurable outcomes have been achieved. The ordinary Nigerian should be able to see and feel the benefits of every debt incurred on their behalf.
At a time when millions of Nigerians are struggling with rising costs of living, unemployment, insecurity, and declining purchasing power, fiscal discipline and prudent management of public resources are no longer optional; they are imperative.
Every borrowing decision should answer one simple question: How does this improve the life of the ordinary Nigerian? If that question cannot be convincingly answered, then we risk merely transferring today's burdens to future generations.
