Please, please, please be aware of job scammers who target desperate applicants with fake opportunities. Never pay money to secure a job, and always verify recruitment offers before sharing personal information. 🚨
And a small request to employers: if an application is unsuccessful, please let applicants know, even via an automated email or SMS. The silence creates so much anxiety for people trying to build a better future.
A little courtesy goes a long way. ❤️🇿🇦
As winter begins to bite in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, we desperately need clothing donations for our upcoming Street Stores on Saturday 23 May.
If you have any good quality, pre-loved clothing, shoes, blankets or warm items that you no longer wear or need, please consider donating them to help someone facing the cold with dignity and warmth.
Every jersey, jacket, pair of shoes and blanket makes a real difference. We always run short of men’s shoes.
Please take a listen to this short message where I explain what we need most urgently - and where you can drop off your donations.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It truly matters. 🙏
@Cy36ONE@peterarmitage Good morning Mr Jacobs, Sir I hope you are well.. Please I'm asking for help to get food for my siblings. It's just us no parents Sir. If you can help us we will appreciate it so much. 0722909778 God bless you Mr Jacobs 🙏🏽
Good morning, you beautiful people.
I'm turning really positive on the turnaround of the SA economy.
Growth in the primary surplus will help with debt stabilisation.
We should see a lot more positives coming from the stronger rand, which looks like it's heading below R17 to the dollar.
Stable inflation, cheaper oil, more cash in the hands of the consumer, and better growth due to a stronger consumer.
GDP growth is edging higher, and if we can reach population growth rate of 1.6% and above. The people of SA will start to get more wealthy and stronger.
Ratings agencies are noticing the positive changes in SA and will start to improve our ratings going forward.
Greylisting is gone.
New inflation target of between 2-4%, which is in line with our competing emerging markets.
Inflation does seem to be under control.
Interest rates. I do believe there's room for cutting another 25 basis point around month end.
This again will boost our local economy ever so slightly.
Momentum is a great power if it's heading where you want it to.
SA has gone through a monumental fuckup the last decade, and we could've done some much better.
But the past is the past.
We need to continue working together, call out the issue areas, and if your neighbour is driving 3 Lambo's, it's time to ask questions.
Have a great day to all the nice people. The rest well have a day.
South Africa wields a new soft power. It no longer merely consumes global culture. It is a key source of it. A long-ish post 📝
Amapiano. Dance. Netflix.
The moment the world begins to echo your art, your music, your humor, and your aesthetics and actively seek it out, that’s global influence.
That's soft power. That’s credibility. That’s global name recognition. That’s the benefit of the doubt in times of crisis and conflicting narratives.
We no longer have to wait to be seen. We are showing who we are, and the world loves who we are and what we produce and wants more.
The global stage is ours to tell our story in a truthful way. One not of perfection, but one of striving valiently. In a world starved of truth, those seeking it, know.
South Africa is the girl she thinks she is, I fear. Not imposed, but earned through creativity, honesty, and soul. Like act like it, dammit. You are no pipsqueak. Walk like it. Talk like it.
