I made this post last year about how our food sector was coming under pressure, using the ginger crisis at the time as an example. I honestly thought it would be temporary. I never imagined we’d still be dealing with it today.

When was the last time you saw or used genuinely hot, spicy Nigerian ginger? We went from being one of the world’s leading producers of high-quality ginger and a major exporter to relying heavily on imports. It’s heartbreaking to see.
